CHAPIN 20005 SureSpray 2-Gallon Pump Sprayer for Lawn, Garden & Weeds

I have not had any luck over the years with pump up sprayers. They all were deficient in one way or another. This sprayer eliminated any worries I might have had when purchasing. It is well designed, feels strong and hefty like it means business. Easy to assemble and the functionality is flawless! To fill the sprayer, remove the pump, and add the product. Lock the pump handle by pressing down and turning until you feel the handle drop into lock mode. Then make a quarter turn to lock. Pump until you begin to feel pretty good resistance to the pumping action. It doesn't take long, at all. The sprayer tip is adjustable, but the setting right out of the box is perfect for my needs. It sprays a solid cone about 3" in diameter when the spray is fully charged. A full pressure charge will last about 3 minutes, under constant spraying, before it starts to shrink a bit. That is the clue to recharge. Simply pump again until the you feel resistance to pumping. Note: The instructions state to thread the hose connection onto the pump body until there is no gap between the end of the hose connection and the pump body. You will not be able to do this all the way by hand. I used a pair of pump pliers to tighten to the appropriate connection. After a 15 minute test spray on moss, I am totally sold on this product. I don't think you can find a better one for the money. Heartily endorsed!

bought the same CHAPIN sprayer about two years ago and was very satisfied with it, so I decided to purchase the same model again. Unfortunately, the quality of the new one is noticeably worse. The plastic feels much thinner than my older one, and some of the edges are surprisingly sharp and poorly finished. More importantly, the connection between the hose and the spray nozzle leaks water during use. It's disappointing to see such a big difference in quality compared with the same model I purchased two years ago. I expected the same quality as my previous CHAPIN sprayer, but this one feels cheaper and has a leaking connection right out of the box. so need to refund!

I was a little skeptical at first before buying this sprayer--it had plenty of negative reviews complaining about quality control, defective parts and what not. For $15.00 I thought why the heck not. So far, I am very pleased with this sprayer. I use it to water the leaves of my Chinese elm bonsai, my first bonsai tree ever and I am not disappointed. The tree is thriving well in the blasted Southern California heat where I reside (quick tip: If you're afraid of over-watering your bonsai in summer, you can water the leaves a couple times a week in summer using a sprayer like this one. The underside of the leaves contain stomata that help the leaves directly absorb H2O rather than waiting on the tree roots to drink-up the water). Unlike my cheap Harbor Freight Tools pump sprayer, I like that this sprayer has a hose & wand attachment--it helps me to reach from the bottom-up to the underside of the leaves where they can more easily absorb the water. Don't know how much my review will help others, but I got what seems to be a good quality sprayer for a very affordable price.

I’ve used this sprayer for applying fertilizer, insect control, and watering plants, and overall it works really well for basic lawn and garden jobs. The pump builds pressure quickly, and the adjustable nozzle gives a nice range from mist to stream. I also like the translucent tank because it makes it easy to see fluid levels while mixing. The anti-clog filter is a nice feature and helped keep the spray consistent during use. It’s lightweight and comfortable to carry around the yard. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that some of the plastic parts feel a little lightweight, and I noticed a slight drip from the nozzle after extended use. Still, for the price and performance, it’s a solid sprayer and gets the job done well.

Top of the line, for comparable products. This is the only type that doesn’t fall apart (that doesn’t eventually leak at bottom), that has an adequate spray for “shooting” at a nest-building bee from a safe distance. For bees, I fill with water and squirt some dishwashing liquid. Beats toxic sprays. Be patient with the screw-on that is for the spray wand (loosens for awhile until it starts to wear tightly. If you have to swish contents, place one hand underneath, hold the top and shake side to side (not up and down). The release valve for pressure is simply the top that has the handle—a well-built screw-in that clicks once to secure for handle carrying (when releasing pressure, keep your head away from the opening to avoid the whoosh).

This pump sprayer works great and has been easy to use. I’ve used it for applying bug spray around my plants and other areas, and it provides a consistent spray with good coverage. It’s easy to fill, pressurizes without much effort, and the one-gallon size isn’t too heavy or bulky to carry around. It can be hard to uncap to release the pressure when you’re done though. I usually use an oven mitt to keep my hands from getting scraped.

Got this sprayer some time ago for treating my yard. 1 full gallon will go around my house, shed and usually my neighbors house if I walk quick for his. I guess it's your typical sprayer. It's the only one I've ever used and I'm happy with it. Seals still hold. Sprayer still works. I always rinse it out after each use incase I need to change chemicals the next time and so nothing eats away at the seals.

Aug 2025 update - I found a Chapin 2 gallon sprayer at Walmart for $15 that has a pressure reduction valve and comes with the standard spray head and a multi-function head that has 4 different spray types. The "shower" (like on a hose) spray has been very good. Being able to release the pressure before opening the tank is sorely missing from these models. The wand also has a bend in it, more like how a 'deck sprayer' does. I don't shop at Walmart often so you might check to see if they still have it. Also, not sure if I mentioned below, but this sprayer and the Bleach / Disinfectant sprayer are the same. The pumps are the same as told to me by Chapin. I bought both because I keep the Bleach one as a 'clean' sprayer with no pesticides. My 3 Chapin sprayers: 1 gal - this one, for pesticides and chemicals; insecticides and weed killers 1 gal - the bleach version, for house and siding cleaner that's bleach based (works great); for washing things down with soap and water 2 gal - from walmart; I'm using this for non pesticide garden and lawn products like fertilizers and pre-emergents. I'd recommend the walmart one over this one because the wand options and pressure reducing valve make it better. ---- There's one model below this one for a few bucks cheaper and I had trouble finding a model better that seemed reasonably priced above this one, so I settled for this as my first ever sprayer. I had no issues putting it together like other reviewers did but I think there is a definite possibility that some units may not be 100% based on this is really an entry model and probably not made for constant use or years of service. Some of the plastic materials reflect that. My tasks were to spray pesticide and lawn/garden products but I've found it useful for more. * The wand feels cheapish like you'd expect on something disposable as you do when buying RTS (ready to spray) bottles. * The container on the other hand seems pretty durable and made from quality plastic. It really baffles me that people complained about leaving pressurized liquid in the container and it failed. If you leave it full in your hot shed or garage then that's really your fault since the instructions are pretty clear that you should always depressurize and it is highly recommended not to leave any solution in it. * The pump, the pump action, the container sealing, the handle locking and the handle to hold while using it are all integrated and so you have 1 fail point for all those tasks. I expect something to fail or break at some point and I could not find where to purchase a replacement for it for when it does. The handle can easily become unlocked so when you go to pick it up the handle pulls out. The locking mechanism seems to just be a friction tab or something that will wear away. * There is no pressure relief valve which many others stated and it is a feature you will want, especially if you are making several gallons during your treatments as each time need to open the container you must let all the pressure out by spraying the hose until the liquid or air stops. An empty container will still be pressurized so you have to blow the air out first then you unscrew the pump/seal. If it is still pressurized you are going to get sprayed in the face as the air/solution leaves the chamber. * The unit doesn't come with any accessories such as a spray shield which would be just an extra piece of plastic over the nozzle to keep your spray where you want it. For being such a critical part of what you likely want the sprayer to do, it should be included. * They tell you to oil the pump occasionally but don't give you any or really direct beyond that what to buy to do that with. I don't want oil contaminating solutions. There is no diagram for where to even put the oil. Why not silicone or similar lubricants? * I plan to use bleach for an outdoor application and even maybe a monthly spray down of the showers/bathrooms but it is expressly incompatible with this unit. The problem is something to do with the seals in the pump reacting with bleach and so I have on order the bleach specific model. It's a confusing mess to figure out if you simply bought the bleach one will it also serve all your other needs or not so now I'm going to have 2 of these things to store and deal with. Why you simply can't purchase the bleach pump and swap it out for the standard pump based on your application seems like this company wants to bleed you slowly. * Extra things I've used it for are simple plant waterings so I don't have lug my 100' hose over the hard to reach shrubs. Fill a gallon of water and walk over and you get a perfect mobile watering station. Also some of these house plants like being misted and you can get a good fine mist while sparing your carpel tunnel. Toss a little Miracle Grow in the tank and fertilizing is better sprayed in than poured in. In all, this is handy and will be durable enough. It is missing features and the lack of replacement parts or interfunctionality with other products makes think I may have been better off with another brand or paying way up for the more expensive models. There's just something wrong with a product that is easier and cheaper to replace than to fix.

Bought two of these CHAPIN 22000 International packs. The built quality is excellent, very functional, and easy to set up. The water pressure is consistent and good for gardening work. The water can be adjusted to either pressure spray or mist. The only downside is that the straight nozzle tube is a bit short. If they can double the length, it is ideal so that it can access the plants more easily. Another downside is that it does not come with a carry strap, as the water can be quite heavy when you need to move it around. You can modify by using a laptop bag strap. Overall, the twin pack is value for money, as the rugged material and spray mechanism can last a long time without breaking down.

Works great. Arrived on time. I would buy them again in the future.

I liked the sturdy build up of Sprayer of plant medicine. It has a good sprayer that goes good distance. I have used it at my home and farm. I am hoping it will last a long a long time.
