VOLUAS Automatic Cat Feeder, 4L Timed Dry Food Dispenser for Cats & Dogs

Recently after getting my cat Milo fixed, he’s grown a bigger appetite and wants to eat more than ever. He’s started waking me up SUPER early in the morning for food and won’t let me go back to sleep until he’s fed, no matter how much I try to ignore him. I also tend to have to go out of town frequently for business trips and since my partner accompanies me since they help me run my business, we have to rely on available friends and family to watch him. So an automatic feeder sounded like a good idea between being woken up before the sun and having the added bonus of making sure he gets fed while we’re away in case whoever watches him does not have time to stop by 3 different times throughout the day. I am an older Gen Z cat dad who treats my pets as most people treat their children. I only want the best for my son, Milo, and I’m very picky on quality of things when buying him anything (food, treats, toys, etc.) so I spent awhile trying to find a good cat feeder. I was a bit iffy about spending so much on a cat feeder but I decided to trust the reviews. The quality of everything so far has been excellent. I appreciate the locking mechanism as it’s easy to use but is cat proof so I don’t have to worry about him breaking into the food. I like that the stainless steel bowl is removable so it’ll make future washes a lot easier. My cat has had some minor cat acne on his chin from plastic bowls harboring bacteria and fats and because of this, it was important to me that his next bowl was steel and not plastic. I didn’t really understand the setup at first, but once you realize you need to press AND hold the lock button to set it up, the rest is really easy. I think the voice feature is cool, and though I haven’t used it myself yet, I like that it’s there in case I want to use it especially if I’m gone on a trip I can pre-record a message for him. It’s pretty quiet, doesn’t make a whole lot of noise when dispensing food, only a small whirring noise and the food clinking the bowl while it pours out. I especially enjoy the battery option as a back up in case the power were to ever go out, this is again something important to me as someone who has to go out of town relatively frequently. My very small minor complaint is I wish the manual said how much food is dispensed per portion, as you kind of just have to test it. Please be sure to test the portions using the “hand”/“feed” button before setting up portions per meal to ensure you’re feeding your cat the proper amount as I can guarantee you 1 portion is not as much as you might think it is. As far as value for money goes, I did get this on sale and while I think it was still a little pricey compared to other options, I personally don’t mind spending a little extra to ensure my cat has a good quality product especially for something as important as being fed. Overall, my cat is still learning and understanding exactly what it is and how it works, but he’s slowly starting to understand it and starting to enjoy it. I have peace of mind knowing that once he’s used to it, I will no longer be woken up at unreasonable hours for food and have peace of mind knowing that his care while we’re away is a little more ensured when it comes to making sure he’s fed properly. The setup is relatively easy and the design is nice and has a lot of features I find to be important and beneficial. If you’re looking for an automatic cat feeder but are iffy about spending the money, I think the money is well worth it for a good product.

I absolutely love this automatic dog feeder! It was very easy to set up, and I was able to preset my dog’s meals and portion sizes. She gets the right amount of food twice a day automatically, so I no longer have to worry about remembering her feeding times. All I have to do is make sure she has fresh water, and the feeder takes care of the rest. It’s convenient, reliable, and gives me one less thing to worry about. Definitely worth it!

I’m really happy with this pet-friendly automatic cat feeder! It’s sleek, compact, and works exactly as expected. The setup was simple, it’s easy to clean and I love being able to schedule my cat’s meals so I don’t have to worry about feeding times when I’m busy or away. It dispenses the right amount of food consistently and has been very reliable so far. It’s also a great size without taking up too much space. Very durable and my other one has lasted years. I purchased one a few years ago and made a second purchase after adopting another kitten. Color is accurate to picture. Definitely a great purchase and would recommend to any cat owner!

It's pretty good, actually. It's rather easy to adjust once you understand how it works. The portions are fairly large - I'd say more than 1 tbsp, in truth - but not ridiculously so. But it can add up if you have multiple portions in one meal (3 portions can be 4 tbsp, in essence). My cats lose it when it disgorges food onto the metal food trays - they are off to the races. The 'mic' sound is fairly garbage, but its actually pretty funny sounding. Like some old early radio broadcast - pure crap. But the cats couldn't care less. Don't think they care about your voice - lol they don't. The sound of the food bouncing in the tray is totally Pavlovian. Now I just need to set it for when I get up and not before, because man is it loud (the food in the tray). Good investment. And I can now feed them several smaller meals each day and they are not pestering me.

Easy to set up & use. Sturdy & holds a lot of food. So far it's working well and my cat likes it. He prefers eating off the floor so I removed the bowl section. I think this is worth the money because I'm not getting woken up as many times a night. Plus, it's nice not to worry if you're going to be away over night.

I love these things. These are super user friendly and easy to set up. They are also easy to clean. i will say that i have no reference of comparison because these are all Ive ever used (Ive never needed anything else!). My ONLY complaint is that I have 4 cats and therefore 4 feeders. It is ever so slightly difficult to get them to be in sync when they go off. You have to have a watch that has the seconds showing when you set it because otherwise they can go off up to a minute apart even if you have the setting at the same time in minutes, which if you have some more greedy cats like me, can mean they try to steal the food that goes off later. I for some reason lose power a decent amount and they don't reset when the power goes off and on so that is nice. The tops are pretty secure. My cats have gotten into one of them a couple times but they are just menaces. They push them around and try to open them all the time with a minimal success rate so I would call that a win. Just something to be mindful of is that the feeders dont keep track of how much food is in them so if they go empty, the only way you will know is if you are there when they go off and realize nothing is coming out. So I check mine about once a month to make sure the food level is good.

This product was pretty easy to set up. Almost two basic. If you didn't know how to use the technology, It was mild troubleshooting with the proportion size because they didn't actually tell you how big the size is were and they go up from 0 to 12. For my cats I feed them twice a day and portion size number four was perfect for them with the small pieces of food that I feed them. It does have backup batteries that you can install just in case power was to go out which happened on our trip that we left when we bought these feeders and luckily it stayed powered for the entire 8 hours we were out of electricity. I have one feeder inside and one outside for my outside cats. It's enclosed in a cat house to keep away from the elements. Disclaimer: It does say not to use outside but because I sheltered it it's fine. The only modification we had to use was screwing it into the cat house and taping. The lid shut because of possums and or raccoons that we're trying to get into the food or smarter than the latch mechanism itself, but for just cats in general it stopped them. So if you plan on using this for any outdoor cats that aren't in side just be aware it's easy to knock over. Positive: depending on your portion sides of course we were going a whole week and I filled the cat feeder completely full and I ran it a week prior to leaving. Then we got back a week later and it was still very full and it ran for a good month. So the proportion size was great because you can fill it up and just continue running it so you don't have to worry about ever forgetting feed your pets and you can save money with the correct proportion size. Small compact you can record your voice to have your animal come to you that seem to really work on my youngest cat. Food loves me to death and won't eat when I'm gone so that really help with separation anxiety. Cons: It will still continue to try to dispense food when it's empty so you just have to learn to check it and it gives you the option. I believe to feed up to four times a day and it doesn't really go into detail and instructions, but if you just hit zero it won't dispense any food. It just skips that time frame so you can literally put two spots at zero in your feeding time from like 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. And leave the other one zeros. But you have to go through each set up in order to feed them the amount of times you feed them. Not knowing what the proportion size were were a trouble shoot. I had to set the timer to go off and then reset it all once I figured out how big and small proportions were. Just overall it's a good simple feeder with very basic setup instructions.

I am amazed at how wonderful this feeder is. My cat came from a shelter with some bad habits. Whenever I went into the kitchen she begged for more food and got louder and louder. This feeder has cured the habit of calling for food. When she hears the kibble falling in her bowl she runs to the kitchen. Peace and quiet in the home now. I found the instructions difficult and would suggest you google it first. I followed the recommended amount of kibble on the package to feed my cat. Weighed the 1/2 cup and divided it by 3 as I choose to feed her 3 times a day. Do several quick feeds to see which program delivers the right amount for you. Mine was program 4.

We chose this cat feeder as it fit all the requirements that we were looking for in an automatic cat feeder. It is very easy to operate, and to leave a message on the audio. Straightforward filling the container with dry cat food, timers set for specific amounts of food throughout the day. Our cat runs to the feeder when the dry food starts dropping into the bowl, and he sits back, politely, until the portion has stopped and then he will politely proceed to eat. We have had the feeder operating for several weeks now and it seems to be working out fine, and we are all pleased with it.

I absolutely love this. It's a huge relief to be able to leave this for my cat when we go on holidays. It's never had any issues, never gotten jammed, nothing. I've had it for quite a few months now and it's perfect. I also appreciate that it doesn't have an app, but it's all programmed on the feeder's interface.
