What size is the thread is the inlet on the handle

I wanted to rempve the fitting at the handle to check for you but couldn't (more on this later). 
Since no threads were exposed, I suspect that the threads are straight (not tapered) and could be 1/4" or metric. Straight rather than tapered threads on air fittings are not used in any USA application I've ever seen for compressor couplers and plugs.

At any rate, for these Tire Inflators, the thread size is probably a mute point because unfortunately, it appears that the fitting is glued in place with a hardening sealer. The handle material is weak die cast zinc or aluminum. I tried to unscrew the fitting so that I could measure it for you, and years of experience tell me that if you use brute force to try and unscrew the fitting, it will almost certainly strip out the threads.

The male end of the fitting itself fits just fine into my common industrial-type 1/4" air hose coupler. If that's what you have, you should have no need to ever have to replace the fitting. If you want to replace it with say a 3/8" fitting, I would try another product.

Yes, very accurate gauges. Improved the ride of my Chrysler Pacifica gettin all four tires at exact same pressure.
