Simple and does the trick, I am a fan.
[5 month update]: Still going. I expected it to die by now to be honest, but its still good to go. Nothing exciting to report other than cleaning it with alcohol wipes or windex will always treat you better than most other cleaners. [2 month update]: 20k or so miles later and I’m still loving the flap. Admittedly I’m excited about trying the new Airhook 2.0 - the Flap is still a Simple concept, gets no grief from the TSA, and disappears into my bag behind my notebook every time. Works great at holding up phones, battery packs and even headphones (not all at the same time). I can see why people have problems with “tearing” it, you just need to be careful and remember not to jam it if there isn’t enough clearance behind the tray. Also remember, the closer to the edge the more flex in the tray. Great product. [Original Review]: As an avid Airhook user I was looking for something a little slimmer to stick in my bag with more flexibility and the Flight Flap delivers. Its super light, holds up my phone, offers no TSA hassle, no stewardess grief, and it slides into my bag next to my notebook just fine. My primary usage for this while flying is with an iPhone in landscape mode, watching movies and connected to power, or in portrait mode with music playing (either of these is with bluetooth headphones). It supports both of these usage modes very well. The flap is nice because as it claims, you can build a tray-stand if your meal tray is down, or you can fold your tray up and (on some planes) tuck it behind. Out near the edge works better btw as the flex in the meal tray helps. For me, I have found the "magazine pocket" to be the best spot for me. Stick 1/2 of it down behind the magazines and bend the other half around like a tray and voila. If you have a first class seat this usually means you can use your meal tray and still watch your device. I have not tried it with an iPad so I cannot speak to that, and I should also point out that your phone is only resting on this. Unlike the Airhook or Joby products there is no 'grip' holding the device in place so it is possible that it could bounce off if you have a lot of turbulence or you don't leave a big enough lip when you bend it. I have not had issues with it getting ripped as others have reported but I have not used it in tight clearance spaces that much yet either. Will update this review accordingly if my experience changes. As of now, I plan to get a second one to put in my partners travel bag as well. Thanks for reading my review and if there's any questions or more details you'd like to see here let me know. -Chris

An absolute essential for my travels
I recently had the pleasure of trying out the FLIGHT FLAP, and I must say, it has become an absolute essential for my travels. This innovative device has completely transformed my airplane experience, and I won't be caught without it again. First and foremost, the FLIGHT FLAP provides unparalleled comfort during travel. No more straining my neck or contorting my body to view my phone or tablet screen – with the FLIGHT FLAP, I can effortlessly position my device at eye level, keeping my hands free and my posture comfortable throughout the journey. What I love most about the FLIGHT FLAP is its versatility. Whether I'm using my phone, tablet, e-reader, or even a handheld gaming console, the flexible and adjustable design of the FLIGHT FLAP accommodates them all with ease. It folds and bends to securely hold my device at any angle, ensuring optimal viewing no matter what I'm doing. Despite its incredible functionality, the FLIGHT FLAP remains incredibly compact and lightweight, making it a breeze to pack and carry. It folds flat to fit perfectly into any bag or suitcase, taking up minimal space and adding virtually no extra weight to my travel load. But the benefits of the FLIGHT FLAP extend far beyond just airplane travel. I've found myself using it for work, leisure, and everything in between. From hosting Zoom meetings to streaming workouts to entertaining kids during car rides, the FLIGHT FLAP has proven to be a versatile companion for all my viewing needs. In conclusion, if you're a frequent traveler like myself, the FLIGHT FLAP is an absolute must-have. It enhances comfort, convenience, and enjoyment during travel in ways I never thought possible. Trust me – once you experience the difference it makes, you'll wonder how you ever traveled without it.

Great for my tablet
This is my second purchase of this thing because the first finally broke. Keep in mind that there is a thin metal plate inside and if you wiggle it back and forth too many times, it will break eventually. It works well on the airplane tray but also can use it on the tray when it is tucked away. I take it on every plane flight and also use it in hotel rooms for late night reading.

A great option for travel
The phone holder is cute and works well. You simply insert it into the tray table on the seat in front of you, lock it in place, and then fold the holder into whatever shape works best for your phone. It’s a convenient solution for flights. However, on some budget airlines where tray tables are not available, you can’t use it as intended. In those cases, I’ve managed to make it work by using the seatback pocket, but it’s not ideal. After only four uses, I’ve already noticed cracks developing in the areas where the phone rests. Given the price point, I didn’t expect it to be exceptionally durable, but it’s worth noting that it may not hold up to frequent use.

Phone holder
Husband really likes this to hold his phone on the airplane—he is not a techie & this is simple to use & easy to carry along.

It is a great first effort
Decent effort but lacking a little in execution. As a frequent flyer, I have been forever trying to find a solution to (near) eye level device watching on Low Cost Carriers. I've purchased Air Clips and the The Handi Holder on amazon.ca and now, the Flight Flap. It is a great first effort, but there are definitely room for improvements. The positives: - It's super light. - Excellent mould qualities. It will bend into any shape desired. - Perfect for packing, it's like a piece of paper in your hand luggage. - It's cheap. The negatives - The neoprene doesn't hold up. After 2 uses, I can feel air bubbles where the glue is separating from the aluminium. - When you bend the flap at the end, you need to leave enough room for a ledge. This means it covers a part of your screen while in place. - Stability is probably the biggest issue. Any turbulence and your phone is taking its own vacation to the back of the plane. A velcro strip or some elastic bands might do the trick here for v2.0. - I managed to balance an iPad on it but only just about.. I still couldn't relax as any sudden turn or plane movement and you risk assaulting your neighbour in 6b with an iPad. My hunt continues.

Perfect Flexible Cell Phone Holder
Don't let the looks fool you! I recently used this on my recent plane trip. I use to sit there and hold my phone in my hands while trying to watch a movie, straining my neck, but not with this product. This phone holder folded up to fit my phone, and I was able to watch my movie hands free. I folded it up first to have it sit on the plane's tray, and I also used it tucked in the tray while the tray was up and locked into the seat in front of me. Worked either way perfectly. Another traveler was intrigued with this item and took a picture of it so he could order one. I purchased two more and gave as Christmas gifts. It does flatten out back to its original form and I packed it back into my carry on taking up no more space that a thin pad of paper. Highly recommend to anyone who travels. It can be used for other purposes as well. Read the description by the seller. This product is just as the seller states.
