Will these work with waterproof LED strips?

Yes! However, you must peel off the silicone coating around the soldering pads first. Once the bare copper is exposed, the connector clamps down securely. They fit standard 8mm strips perfectly.

Does this connect strip-to-strip or strip-to-wire?

This is a Strip-to-Wire connector. One side clamps to the LED light, and the other side locks in your own extension wires. It is perfect for bridging gaps between kitchen cabinets with custom wire lengths.

Can I use this for RGB strips?

No. These are 2-Pin clips designed strictly for 8mm Single Color LED strips. RGB strips are usually 4-Pin and 10mm wide, so they will not fit. Please check your strip width before buying.

Do I need to strip the wire insulation before inserting?

Yes. Please strip about 10mm of insulation from the wire tips. Inserting the bare copper wire into the slot ensures maximum conductivity and a strong, non-slip physical connection.

Do these come with wires attached, or do I need my own?

I Love These Things!

I've done a few different LED strip light installs for ourselves, family, and friends, and these are by far my favorite splicer/connectors. Secure, simple, small/clean, and less $ than some others that make you buy cords with jacks vs. using simple cut to exact size wire.

Best connectors I’ve tried

These are the best connectors I’ve used. Be sure to trim the bare wire to the right length and clip them in carefully. They work great.

Satisfied overall, but some connections needed to be redone.

I used these connectors to install LED lights in a built-in shelving unit. They work as advertised, but the LED strip can easily become dislodged from the connector. This was easy to fix, but it slowed the project down. At the end of the day, the function as desired with zero failed connections. These are the first I've purchased. Based on the similar construction of other brand connectors, I would have to assume that most connectors will have this same type of issue. Since it is something that can be dealt with by just being careful with the connections, I am overall satisfied with the purchase. I don't have enough experience to say yes or no to recommending. I will update the review in the future if experience changes.
