Exactly, and I mean exactly like described. I don't ask for much. But when a product is exactly like described I'm very happy. It is a jig, you put your slide or negative on to the spot in it lights up. And you take a picture of it with your phone. Then you can edit the pictures with any software that you have. Highly recommend.

Thought this would be good for visiting with family - compact & portable. That would be true...if it worked. All the photos are blurry b/c it's too close for my iPhone to focus on the image. I don't know if the app would be better, but no way in hell am I downloading some Chinese app on my phone. Besides, if the physical structure is sound, then you really shouldn't need the app. I DO NOT recommend this product AT ALL. Do NOT buy.

I was able to get some decent pictures from extremely old negatives, some negatives, poor quality, mostly unhappy with the app that goes along with this.

Bought this to transfer a few old slides to digital. Didn't want or need an expensive machine to do what I imagine will be a one time use. Functioned as advertised and did a fairly good job! Follow the directions exactly. This will not provide high quality, digital images but its not designed to. If you need high quality than buy a high quality digital transfer machine. But if you simply need to transfer a few of Grandpa's old 35mm slides to a digital format for your phone or everyday use, this device meets the bill.

Needed to convert slides to digital format. This is a very inexpensive and easy way to accomplish that. Quality of the photos will depend upon the quality of your phone. I have a Pixel 4 and pictures are coming out great!

This little gem made it so easy to take pictures of slides. 1. Unfold device. 2. Put smart phone on top with Camera over hole. 3. Turn on back light. 4. Put slide in device. 5. Center and focus in viewer. 6. Take picture. 7. Repeat

If your only doing film photos it might work for you but I had slides to photograph. It was mostly useless. I did get my photos, but I didn't use the top plate I ended up pulling my cell off and removing the upper holder and pulling back 1' and taking a photo but even then it was not that great. I had to use a Apple photo editor to sorta of get the images to be readable. But the front photo of the painting was useless. It's a good idea but not really practical.

It takes over a minute and a 1/2 to attempt to download the app, which is not in the play store by the way. If you're lucky your phone won't let you download it like mine didn't!!! I simply downloaded the Kodak app and it does the same thing that I would assume the app that comes with this product would do. I downloaded the Kodak app and it only took under 20 seconds from pushing one button to having the green open button come on. Obviously, don't download apps that are not through whatever service you use. My opinion. It's a nice little setup and I am happy with it the PHYSICAL product. But I wouldn't download the app. Can you say Spyware?

I had to find a similar app in android and found one compatible. All this contraption is is a box with a hole in it, not positioned two inches above a light source, in the place you would have a camera lens, but most camera lenses are not centered on the back of a camera, so you have to wiggle and adjust your device to sit above the opening. .
