The Hat Depot Unisex Light Weight Classic Soft Cool Mesh Pork Pie hat

I was looking for a summer weather pork pie hat, but one that wouldn’t break the bank. I am really pleasantly surprised by this one. The material offers great ventilation, without feeling cheap. It’s also flexible but resilient enough for tossing into a backpack without worrying about it getting crushed or losing its shape. I usually wear a size 7 hat, and the small/medium size fits my head perfectly. And it looks great.

This item was a gift for my wife, she loves it, brough 2 one black and one white.

What should other customers know - well, this is a decent hat for a fair price. Not many can pull off a pork pie, but if you can, and you're seeking a lid for the warmer months, this is a good one to go with. I would recommend that you order this by it self. These do not come in their own box, so if you order it with... well anything big or heavy, it will be crammed into the same box with the rest of your stuff. This is my second one, because I love the first so much but I feel like it's time in transit didn't help with the symmetry of the hat and while it is absolutely the right size, the "fit" feels a little lopsided. It could be how the hat always was. I'll say it like this - the fit and feel of the first hat I ordered inspired me to buy this one. I wear it a lot and I get a lot of compliments on it. Had THIS hat been my first, I don't think I would have ordered another.

Got this hat to replace one I got at Target years ago of all places that got complemented all the time. I can tell this one will get complemented as well. Just received it and already back on to order a couple other colors. I have much more expensive hats from name brands I didn’t like as much as the cheap ones. This is a good cheap one. An, this seems to have better ventilation, yet it doesn’t have so much that you can see my head through it.

In terms of its physical design, this hat is exactly what I wanted. It's made of a fabric with a loose mesh weave that allows air to circulate in hot weather, keeping the sun off my bald head but not trapping heat. The fabric looks solid from a distance, so it doesn't look like I'm wearing a novelty hat; it looks as solid and robust as the felted wool hat I wear during the winter. The synthetic material is broadly stain-resistant, and after wearing it for a full summer, I haven't left the kind of sweat stains I'm accustomed to leaving on other hats' inner band. To the extent that I have left a mark, I've been able to wash it off with a wet cloth, air-dry it, and put it back on my head. Unlike my wool hat, which requires professional cleaning, this hat stays presentable with a little light maintenance. However, the size is not accurate. I got the LG/XL model for my size 7 1/2 head, and to fit on my head, I have to jam it down. It leaves a red hatband across my scalp, which means I can't wear this hat anywhere I hope to take it off and look presentable, like a job interview or church. And since it isn't adjustable, I have no hope of wearing it without giving myself traction alopecia. In short, I like the idea of this hat, it's well-made of a desirable quality of material. But the size is complete fantasy based on a mistaken notion of what common hat sizes actually are, and it fits my head like a clamp. It looks nice, but it's unpleasant to actually wear. If your head runs to the small side, consider this hat; but if you're even slightly on the large side, I don't recommend it.

The Pork Pie arrived in good time as promised. Pulled it out of its packaging, tossed it on, and fit like an old hat! On hot summer evenings, it's nice and cool due to its breathable fabric. All in all, happy with the purchase!

Definitely not for males. Quality is average and is a beach day hat. Returning items to the Hat Depot Mens Baseball Caps are very difficult. Probably the worst I’ve received through Amazon.
