Great bag!
I was looking for a roller bag for my scuba equipment. I already own a high sierra backpack and love it. This roller bag is no different. It feels very strudy with the zippers and the material. Handles are very nice as well. The telescope handle works well. I love the two compartments. I havent tested yet to see how well my scuba equipment will fit, but right now im packing for a long weekend and its fitting lots of stuff. I can see it may want to tip forward but for what i have it in it still can stand up right and not fall over. The color is perfect and just like the picture. Its not too heavy either. It appears to roll well. Wont really know until i get to rolling it outside with extra weight. All in all the bag seems to be what i need and great for the money. Hopfully for my scuba trip it will hold up to the airline abuse!

Great bag!
Great bag! I bought it for a safari trip and it worked great. Spacious storage, great design and very durable.

Sweet and would highly recommend.
Needed to replace my 20+ year old Wilson duffel bag which was beginning to unravel. Do note I wanted a true duffel bag--not a hybrid duffel/suitcase. A true duffel bag to me has a specific shape, takes minimal storage space when not in use, packs easily, has lots of compartments, is light and compact, water resistant and has a high cool factor. I studied every one I could find online ranging from $30 to $1,200 and chose the 28" High Siera Fairlead portable 28 inch as it had all the features I want, plus one bonus I didn't know existed.I had some trepidation as the price was much lower than the other ones I was seriously considering. However, the High Sierra arrived clearly well constructed, strong and the separate container at bottom keeps my cloths tightly packed and unwrinkled. The tie down straps in the bottom section are sweet. If I don't want to pack both compartments separately I just unzip the divider and have one large expanse of space. The one "gotcha" is that the video with the guy with the red duffel bag claims there are TWO end compartments -- one on each end -- but there is only ONE, and it is on the end with the retractible handle. Maybe the newer models were modified to allow the bag to better stand on end which some complained about, but to me standing on end is not something true duffel bags do well. Regardless, this one does a better job at this than my old one did.I especially like the strong material constructuon and the sturdy telescoping handle which gladly comes out much farther than the video shows. It wheels itself along very nicely and with good stability.I couldn't be happier with the High Sierra except maybe for that second external compartment I was expecting, but the one external compartment is much larger than expected and will suit my needs.Good job High Sierra!

Week built but only used on one trip so far.
Very sturdy , feels well built and too bulky, only used it on 1 trip so don’t know how long it will last.

very narrow - has bad balance
The Bag is nice and seems to be well-made. Size is good for the content. I like the bottom separate compartment. The problem is that it is very narrow at 12" wide and therefore tips very easily and makes pulling it problematic. Once it tips, it is not easy to straighten it up - in particular if it is heavy. Being that narrow, it is hard to balance the content, which makes it very prone to tipping. Shame- I liked the bag and the size. Probably 2" wider would resolve the problem. The larger model is just too large -I like the 28" length.

Best bag and brand you'll ever own!
I love High Sierra bags. I am still using my huge one (maybe 34") from 11 years ago and it's in near perfect condition. So naturally I wanted a smaller one for quick trips. I love the drop bottom and top entry pocket. It makes accessing things you've packed so convenient. Naturally I've ordered the 22" for carry on as well. This is just so much more convenient than a regular suitcase. The quality and durability of this brand is unmatched. The wheels glide so smoothly, they're basically whisper quiet. I ordered this Used-Like New, so I got a steal as far as pricing, but I'd pay full price if the former wasn't an option because the value for the cost is so high with this one. You'll use this bag for years to come. Light enough to carry as a duffel, but conveniently has wheels for the times you don't want to carry. I can't say enough good things. Don't hesitate to buy.

Rugged and roomy
I just returned from a three week trip during which time this bag was subjected to numerous baggage handlers and airplane cargo holds, not to mention being tossed into the trunk of numerous rental cars( sometimes on a daily basis). The bag performed perfectly. It shows very little ware and all zippers and latches still perform perfectly. As you can imagine, I had the bag absolutely stuffed with enough clothing for three weeks. The adjustable latched straps on the side took pressure off the lower compartment zipper, thus preventing the failure seen on other competitive bags.Although I had no issues with the wheels, I would like to see them upgraded to roller blade style wheels for quieter, smoother operation. I had issues with the bag wanting to roll on its side after going over a curb but since the wheels can only be about 12” apart that is a physics issue and not a design issue. After looking at perhaps dozens of suitcases, I am happy I chose this one. It’s strong, durable, and a terrific value. One negative point: there is a deep top zipper pocket that is somewhat useless. If the bag is truly packed (as mine was) there is no room inside for items to be put in the pocket. It can be used for small items such as passport, boarding pass or a bottle of aspirin. Then again if the main compartment is not completely full it might be big enough for a pair of shoes (ladies).

Not the same as former version
Purchased this for a recent four week trip abroad. Held all of my items well. It is narrower than the last time I bought the same style item in this brand. You have to be very aware of placing your heaviest items at the opposite end of the bag from the pull up travel handle as it tips over quite easily if you want it to stand upright. The zipper was a bit difficult to get to zip around the corners at times (not related to the bag being overfilled). Overall, I was happy with the amount of items I could pack into this bag. It has adequate handles for being able to grab it and throw it into bus hatches and train storage bins. i did find that the Velcro on the wrap around part that keeps the handles together is not the best Velcro I’ve seen as it doesn’t always stayed secured. My former bag of this kind lasted for six years so I am hoping this one has good longevity as well.

Perfect for travel for vacation
Haven’t used it yet. But, it was what I expected. I have owned a similar item before but the zipper at the bottom failed after several years.
