Whole and Healthy Family

This is such a practical and encouraging book for ways to implement healthier habits and lifestyle in your own family. I blazed through it in audible and loved it so much I wanted a hard copy to keep on hand and loan out! highly recommend for any parent!

This book is a complete treasure for any parent. He covers and encompasses almost all aspects of family, life and parenting life. Jody mocking me is a true fountain of wisdom. We have been able to follow many of the guides that she provides in leading our home and our children. Her advice is fairy real and very heart lead. Although her methods are very logical and very well informed, you can tell that the heart wants to follow the truth inside these pages and you can feel a great change within your family and Home if you apply just a few of these , when you were reading the book. I have returned to this several times when I am remembering some thing that I read in it, that I am living through an experience and then I am reminded at what resources I can look towards as she gives many resources as well. She is incredible! I am so happy that she came out with a book. If you are a homeschooling, or not, this book is still a VERY valuable resource to own as you start a family or even if you already have a family that is growing. I will say, and mention that she does talk about health and simplifying your life while incorporating things that are meaningful and impactful for your children and for your marriage.

I first read the book from the library and then decided to purchase it. Full of practical advice and encouragement for raising my family from a Christian perspective.

I think this book is an absolute delight to read. Jodi Mockabee mixes personal anecdotes, passion, humor, and practical tips in just the right proportions for my taste. It’s an easy read and is helpfully broken into three main sections: Mind, Body, and Spirit. I appreciate that the author has done her research while sharing what has been successful in her own family, rather than just doling out baseless opinions. I like how she sprinkles book recommendations for further reading and cites numerous studies/articles as well for those of us who want to further research various topics presented throughout the book. I feel inspired to try new things, motivated to buckle down in other areas, and encouraged to step it up to really help my family grow deeper in faith. I highly recommend this book for anyone looking to strengthen their family.

I have followed Jodie on instagram for years. My little family is about 10 years behind Jodie’s and her posts have been a constant source of encouragement for me as I struggle through the ‘trenches’ as she endearingly calls those little years. Jodie has seemed like a kindred spirit as I have watched her through the screen over the last years and I have so enjoyed this peak into her heart and what has motivated her parenting decisions.I was so delighted with how much scripture and practical information she included in the book. It is such a good balance of truth and ideology coupled with practical wisdom that can only come from years of walking the walk. “Educating the Whole Hearted Child” by Clay and Sally Clarkson has been a manual of mine as I enter the homeschooling years and this book reminds me of it. However I this book does such a good job filling in the gap of the rest of your life! School is not the end all be all in our homes, we are aiming for so much more than that and I love how this book directly applies to relationships, food, health and nature that will so balance out our days. And apply regardless of how my children are educated! Thanks Jodie!

I have followed Jodi on social media for a few years now, admiring her perspective on homeschool and parenting, so when I saw she was coming out with a book, you’d better believe I pre-ordered it!!! Well, let me tell you, it doesn’t disappoint. This is one of the most refreshing and life-giving parenting books I’ve read. I especially appreciate the last couple of chapters, where instead of laying out trite tactics or specific principles, Jodi encourages readers to approach the Holy Spirit with their parenting questions. In a culture saturated with countless approaches and methods, this was exactly what I needed to hear. Thank you, Jodi, for sharing your parenting wisdom, and for being a mentor from afar!

I am so grateful that Jodi Mockabee wrote this book. It’s practical, comforting and truly life giving and I'm just getting started! The way the author talks about finding ways to parent that are unique to each child isn’t something new, but what IS new for me, is the multitude of ways she describes how to show that love and most importantly, not only that it makes parenting more effective but that it builds deep bonds with each child. I crave a relationship with my children that’s healthy, rooted in love and trust, and one that allows both parent and child to genuinely enjoy each other and build each other up.I have felt so encouraged being reminded that just like in the family of God we all have our own unique gifts in our own family. God has crafted my husband and I and each of our children for a unique purpose and when we get to know our children on a deep level, we can speak into who God has individually created them to be, which will be fulfilling in our family, in their own lives, and in the Kingdom. Praise God! I can’t wait to keep reading!

I devoured this book. The author has incredible insight into being mindful and practical in parenting, and to creating a healthy, functional, thriving family unit. I felt encouraged and hopeful in my journey as a wife and mother after reading about some of her experiences and lessons that she’s learned as those experiences were so relatable and grounding. I especially loved the references to scripture throughout. I feel inspired by the concepts in this book, and I am so happy to have it on my bookshelf!!

This book deserves a raving 5 star review! Maybe because I was already in her line of thinking I liked it so much, but I thought it was extremely thought provoking.I read the book cover to cover and instantly started again with a notebook by my side to write down my ideas. It was so inspiring! A chapter might be called “exercise with the family” and I’d think “what else do I need to know about exercise?” Yet by the end of the chapter I was captivated, on every single chapter. Jodi has a way of writing to the point in a concise manner, so it isn’t a long read. I would highly recommend any mama to read, but especially if she is a homeschooler. Thank you Jodi for your wisdom, I have cherished it!

I really enjoyed this book, I’ve not actually finished a book in a while but this one I couldn’t put down. It was really inspiring and full of ideas.

I am not a Christian but still this book is a must have for anyone that wants to live an intentional family life ✨

As a homeschool mum of three children (aged 7, 10, and 15) I find this book to be a gem for a parent’s heart. It reflects on the early years and leads you through various topics all regarding the wholeness of a healthy personality.I kept writing out quotes from the book and highlighting ideas I’m hoping to try out. Meanwhile, it’s not an advice book but rather a loving conversation with a wise companion.I loved how authentic many topics were including raising a neurologically atypical child, discussing healthy sex topics within a Christian household, and addressing clever ways to use screen time as a connection point between teens and parents.

I loved this book so much and found each chapter to have exactly what I needed to hear to get some wisdom for how to raise our kids. Now that I am done I’ll get my husband to read it so we’re on the same page. Grateful Jodi decided to share her wisdom with the world via this book!!
