The Original Yak Cheese Dog Chews, 5 Large/XL Yak Chews

If you have a dog that treats "long-lasting" chews like a light snack, you need to try these. I’ve gone through so many different bones and sticks, but these yak cheese chews are the real deal. They are incredibly hard and dense, which is perfect because it actually takes my dog a significant amount of time to work through one. Why I keep these stocked: Truly Long-Lasting: Unlike rawhide or softer chews that are gone in ten minutes, these keep him occupied for a good hour or more. Zero Mess & No Smell: One of my favorite things is that they don't get slimy or leave a gross scent on my carpets. They are very "clean" for such a heavy-duty chew. The "Puff" Hack: When the chew gets down to a small nub (the "choke hazard" size), you can pop it in the microwave for about 45 seconds. it puffs up like a giant cheese cracker! It's so satisfying to let him finish the very last bit safely. Natural Ingredients: I feel much better giving him 100% natural cheese rather than something filled with chemicals or mystery "meat" products. They are definitely a premium treat, but for the amount of peace and quiet they buy me, they are worth every penny.

These cheese chews are great for my dog. We use these when we have to leave him in the crate when we go somewhere, and he just loves the crate now. They are hard and are perfect for my agressive chewer, they last longer than expected. These are also very nice as penut butter does not satisfy my dog, but he just loves the cheese in these chews.

Mu dog loves these and they last for many days.

Our dog loves these but we have to watch him closely and not have it for too long. It makes a mess with little pieces breaking off when he chews and it caused a little stomach distress. Overall good value and product.

My Irish Wolfhound is a tough chewer! She loves these, they seem to be the most satisfying out of all the different types of chews we offer. I do like the little trick of soaking and then microwaving them when they get too small, it’s a whole different treat! She has beautiful, white teeth, and I think these are a positive contributor to her oral health! I only offer them to her when I’m around, just in case she cracks it just right and it breaks into slivers, but we have never had any digestive issues with these. Dogs should always have access to fresh water, especially when having these. I don’t recommend just leaving them in a crate. Love this brand!

My American Bully LOVES these! These Yak treats have become the favorite treat; its amazing for chewers, and helps him get out the urge to gnaw. These feel hard as bone, but he is able to nibble away and keep him occupied for a while. Whenever the wife and I want to watch a movie, we ask "You want, YAK!?" and he goes bananas! It keeps his attention long enough to get through a movie and still have some left. Plus, when these get too small you can soak these in water for 10min, toss them in the microwave, mic' them for a bit, and they expand into a crunchy treat. If your pupper is a chewer, get these! It will be a groundbreaking treat!

We order these for our frenchie, he loves them, and we order them, usually a couple bags at a time. The past two orders(of a couple bags each), I have noticed two different smells. 1st Smell: when I opened the shipping Amazon envelope(blue and white padded ones), there is a pungent and in your face odor of dryer sheets or some kind of air freshener. I assumed(feeling silly now after doing my research) in the beginning that it might have just been stored in a warehouse next to something that has this odor. I assumed that the bags were sealed so it couldn’t harm our little fur-buddy. But now I’m realizing, it’s to cover up the second smell(below) and to say I’m concerned is putting it lightly, as he has been getting these chew sticks for months. 2nd Smell: Several weeks after they arrive, it’s usually time for us to open a new bag. Upon several occasions, I have opened the bag and been met with a crazy chemical or organic matter smell. It was hard to say without knowing what it was and again, we assumed given the ingredients(cheese, salt and lime juice) that it might have just been a natural reaction and we assumed because our dog was still interested in them the same way he was a treat, that it probably was safe(because it didn’t taste like chemicals- naïve, I know). After reading the other reviews from purchasers, I agree, it could very well be a mold or mildew smell. Needless to say, we won’t be ordering these from Amazon again until they change their return policy, especially when the reason is questioning the SAFETY of an item. I have always had good luck with Amazon customer service so I am at a loss as to how this could go unchecked. I would assume that if more than a couple people are coming forward to say something is wrong with the product, they would want to figure out what’s happening. Just a couple further details- I have received several variations in the color of the cheese chews, ALL with this smell. They do vary in size, appearance, and durability. The most common two variations in our experience are: a) Some are very light yellow, long and skinny and they chip into big sharp pieces. Or b) they are a dark greyish yellow/brown, they feel much more dense and are thicker/shorter. They do not seem to chip, but they do seem to be harder to chew. Our frenchie(heavy chewer), only seems to finish the lighter/less dense/but unfortunately ones that chip. I hope this was helpful to someone. Please Amazon, figure out what the smell is, for the safety of our fur-friends!

These are wonderful. My dog chews and chews some more. When they get down to an inch or two, the fun really begins. Soak it in warm water for 5 minutes and put it in the microwave for a minute and it becomes a big cheese puff. My dog goes nuts over that.

My dog loves them! I can’t quite wrap my head around the price too much and they don’t last as long as I thought and my dog is forty pounds. I wish they were a little less expensive, but other than that they are a great distraction and treat for any dog with no side effects except maybe a chipped tooth which I just discovered with a recent visit to the vet.

Fantastic chews, expensive, shame they are not marketed here by company to get the price down! I found these in the USA , bought them home and my puppy loves them, it's taken 4 weeks and still my dog hasn't made a huge dent in it , it keeps her amused for hours and doesn't upset her stomach, considering how sharp her puppy teeth are its great they last so long and they do help to stop her chewing other things!

This product did not break apart. It was solid from beginning to end. Doggy loves it. Will buy it again.

Great chews. Very hard, and last for months. My dog really enjoys these, and will take one to bed.

These are wonderful. I bought a pack of three and my terrier is still on the first one which has about an inch left. She's 6mths now and it did take her a while to be able to chew it so I probably should have bought her the thinner ones. But know her jaw is strong enough she's getting on really well with it. It keeps her occupied for ages, grating off the tiny little bits. Happy to recommend to those who have dogs that very quickly chew everything you give them. They make a nice change from meat products.
