SUPER- high quality and design - love it.
I am one of the unlucky ones who has a not-very-old Microsoft Surface that no longer recognizes its keyboard. The Microsoft store tech recommended I look instead at a stand-alone bluetooth keyboard like the Brydge. I read what other folks said about the hinge being stiff, touchpad, not working reliably, etc. I decided to try it anyways. I am very impressed. My Surface did clip easily to the keyboard. It opens and closes easily without any stress on the screen that I could see. Connection via blue tooth was a piece of cake. This product is BEAUTIFULLY Made. Using the Surface on my lap with Microsoft's keyboard was always difficult. This solves that problem. It is a little heavy. I put my Surface and the keyboard on my postal scale. the two together weigh in at 3lbs/6 oz. As I look at it, edgewise, it appears to almost exactly double the thickness of the Surface. But they do look like they belong together. I have not investigated a case for my UPGRADED Surface so I can't tell you there's one that will fit. But I'm sure they're out there someplace. In terms of feel and operational functionality, it is just superb. This keyboard is a bargain at the price. Even if you're buying a new Surface, it would be worthwhile for you to consider this keyboard as a great alternative to the Microsoft one.

Great Keyboard and Protects Investment
This keyboard has worked very well from the first day. It holds the tablet without any movement but is not so tight as to worry about it doing any damage to the device. It is also heavy enough to hold the tablet upright on my lap, which is really nice. It also protects the face of the tablet really well. On the downside, the keyboard can sometimes feel a bit too heavy on my lap, and in shorts can leave "indented" legs. The trackpad can also be a bit too sensitive, which can at times be frustrating. But overall, it is working great and I highly recommend it. I love the solid feel and the extra security it is giving my screen when in the bag.

Good laptop feeling, nice keys, bad to worst track pad. (DO NOT buy if intend to play games)
Good keyboard, nice heft (in order to keep the screen from falling over), really makes your Surface Pro more "lap-able". If you've used tablets with flappy keyboards you'll know how that feels, this remedies it. The only two problem lies with the trackpad - it's a bit hard for it to detect you, both moving around and also registering the mouse click. Sometimes you may need to press down a bit harder - same old trackpad annoyance, nothing beats a real mouse. The most major issue with the trackpad - if you intend to play games, any games - is that the trackpad does NOT work if you have other keys pressed down. This will render numerous if not ALL games unplayable where it requires you to pan the screen around with the keyboard while using the trackpack, or playing any FPS (moving with keys while panninig with mouse). I inquired with Brydge and their engineer's response was that the keyboard was not intended for that use - hence it was intended that the keyboard and the trackpad DO NOT work together at the same time. This means you cannot ever play games in bed without a hard surface. May be a deal breaker.

A Rare Case of Over-Delivering. 5 Stars!
I was so pleasantly surprised by this keyboard. It delivers far more than I anticipated. The build quality is amazing, it's sturdy and solid. It's heavier than I expected, but after using it for a bit, I realized that's intentional to keep the balance of the "laptop" so the screen isn't too heavy. The keyboard is comfortable to type on, the keys are high quality with a satisfying travel. Several levels of keyboard backlighting work perfectly, and it paired immediately with my Surface Pro 6. With the addition of this keyboard, I finally feel like the Pro is the one laptop I can use everywhere.

quite a number of design flaw
The grip is too tight and too close to screen, it sqeeze my screen and made it decolor when open/close , also the touch pad is too small, I cannot disable the physical left/right click and keep mistakenly trigger right click. The Quality is OK, but why the spin of the hinge is so strong that whenever I close it rapidly close and crush my screen onto the keyboard After some time of usage, this keyboard stop working, no indicator that the battery was dried out of what, the led on keyboard was green, whatever I chick nothing happen on the surface pro/ What a regretful product

Nice keyboard
Nice keyboard and just what I wanted for my Surface Pro 7 so I could use a stand with it. That said, it is rather heavy, so for portability defeats the purpose of having the Surface Pro as a lighter weight travel device in place of my laptop. If this were any lighter, it would not be able to do its job of supporting the tablet without that weirdo stand Microsoft came up with on their flimsy keyboard that came with it.

You have to be really careful, because the clamp mechanism apply too much pressure to the screen
Like: Good Quality, the battery life is good The keys work really good and the size is good Bluetooth connectivity is easy Dislike: - The touchpad is to small and it doesn't feel good. It has a delay on the response. The click doesn't work well. - The clamp mechanism applies too much pressure. That's ok, but if you want to close it, you'll probably break the screen cause the hinges are too tie - It doesn't have extra rubber hinges Nice to have: It will be nice to have build in connector and not Bluetooth (more like the Microsoft keyboard). In my case I bought it for my surface pro 6 (I will not use it in other machine)

Great upgrade with a few kinks
Very nice looking and highly functional keyboard. It turns the surface pro into a nice little laptop that sits on your ... lap. The only comments I have are that the keyboard is heavy so the surface feels less portable than if it had the standard surface keyboard, the transition from laptop to tablet isn’t as seamless as when using the surface keyboard, and lastly i am experiencing significant lag and choppiness when scrolling websites. I find the performance much better when I use my finger on the screen rather than the touchpad.

This keyboard is the only surface pro attachable keyboard I have come across with a hinge(and it works extremely well). It has a great key feel, battery life, responsive keypad, and overall great build. Definitely recommend.

I have always found the surface to be a little restrictive with the pull out stand and keyboard cover and most of the times I just wish it was a proper laptop. This keyboard from Bryde gives me exactly that by turning the Surface Pro into a proper laptop. The idea behind it is brilliant and I find it a great keyboard to type on. The trackpad is a little small but does the job. I usually use an external mouse anyway so I can't complain. With all the processing power and heat being behind the screen you find it can be used on your lap without covering any fans and it getting hot. I would highly recommend the Brydge Keyboard for anyone with a Surface Pro.

I am very happy with this product. It has entirely changed the way I use my surface. It does exactly what I wanted it to, essentially turns it into a proper laptop that I can type on without getting frustrated! I pulled apart the clamps slightly and there is no longer any pressure on the screen. I like that it is heavy as it stays on your lap. It looks very smart, I have only used it a month or so and the battery life is fine so far.

Product integrates effortlessly with the Surface 6. I find it significantly better than the windows keyboard. The backlit LED screen is extremely useful for typing in dimly lit rooms. The battery is incredible and it makes the surface look very polished.

The reviews on this are misleading. I love my surface pro 7 but the floppy keyboard was not for me and made it less useful for travel which is mostly when i use it. The surface slots into the holders with no issue and fits perfectly. Not too tight not too loose. Once mated then its painless and like having a laptop. No screen bleed its not that tight but just right and wont fall out. Keyboard has not been updated for pro7 so one star docked as charger is usb mini whilst pro 7 is finally usb c so slightly annoying but keyboard seems to last a while. The indicator for charge is based on coloured lights and would have preferred an app to check exact percent but as it lasts a long time not so big a deal. Its a solid piece of kit and substantial. Weighs the same as the surface i would say so expect combined together to feel heavier than with floppy ms cover. No rough edges for me, feels high quality and seems to work well. Touch pad can be adjusted and seems to work well enough for me and has shortcuts like scrolling built in. Overall, happy with this and transforms my surface pro 7 into the perfect little portable travel device. Not aware of any others on the market and in black price is reasonable. Not sure why silver is so much more expensive and free shipping with Amazon of course.
