How heavy is the statue ?

How do I insert the scales in the hand?

unscrew the tip of the scale and insert into hand very carefully.

Is it heavy enough to be a functional bookend?

Not likely. Possibly the large (16 in.) version but I would think the 12.5 in. isn’t heavy enough.
