Might as well say MotorCraft on the box!
Purchased this item on Amazon 11/19/2016 and it arrived 6 days later. Packaging was good and all parts were included. Installed on my 2012 Ford Explorer next day in about 15 minutes. Adjusted to the dimensions for the car top box I was going to buy (35.5" apart) to make sure it would match and then road tested. Drove around for a bit from 30mph up to 75mph and no wind noise where I had the bars positioned. Got back home and put a couple 2x4's on it and load tested about 250 pounds and no deflection on the bars and no stress on the factory roof side rails. From what I found sliding them around you can get them right next to each other or as far as 48" apart. This product was exactly as described in the Amazon.com description. I wish someone from Amazon would read through the reviews left by people that score it very low because they stripped a screw or it was packaged with the wrong parts. This may be valid for some, but they should say that specifically in their review. For someone who is 6'-3" tall and mechanically inclined I installed this in my garage in my bare feet in less time than it took me the night before to get it out of the box, unpackaged, examine the parts, and read the directions. Do not fault the seller with low ratings because you do not know how to thread a nut & bolt. The bars were labeled for front and back and the rail brackets left and right. Very easy to figure out... The bars also have about 2.5" of travel in the end caps to adjust to the width of their location on the roof rack. For some reason Ford made the front of the explorer's roof rails wider in the front than in the back. There is a set screw at each bracket, I would suggest opening them up to their longest width prior to lifting them onto the roof and once you hook the opposite side just push back together until it fits. Yes the end caps and roof rail brackets are made of plastic, MOST OF YOUR CAR IS MADE OF PLASTIC. Again, not a good reason to give one star. If these were made of metal they would be die cast, and if you did not fit them correctly they would break very easily if not aligned perfectly. The plastic is heavy duty automotive grade and I have no doubt they will last as long as anything else on the car that does not get run into or hit with a hammer...To summarize, these are a perfect fit and an exact match to what I would expect to buy at the Ford Dealer for the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) set for twice the price. This is an aftermarket 'knock off' as you will notice it is not made by MotorCraft but you cannot tell the difference in appearance or performance. Well worth the money compared to the other name brands and exactly what I expected it to be and very simple to install, especially if you have some experience with 'bolt-on' automotive accessories.

Punches way above its weight
Looks great. Very adjustable. Easy to install in under 10 min. I predict it won't be very durable, but I'm happy for the features I got at this price point.I ordered two sets and installed them both on my Ford Explorer. The extra cross bars should help with heavier loads, and give me extra tie down options.

Less than 25% of OEM Version!
I received the crossbars sooner than I expected and was definitely pleased with their quality. All parts were included, and everything was in good condition. The box arrived with a huge tear in it, but the UPS driver waited while I checked the product. The instructions that came with the product were the weakest part of the package; no words, just drawings. It took me about 30 minutes to install these, most of that time trying to understand the instruction drawings. The crossbars fit perfectly, look great, and are very solid. This order was just over $108, including tax (free shipping)- compare that to Ford's $460 for a pair of crossbars!

Adjustable Fit
I was initially upset that the crossbars came too short for my 2014 Ford Explorer until I realized you can loosen the single screw to extend out. Once I realized this, installation took less than 5 minutes. The crossbars fit easily into the channel of the roof rack and feel solid and sturdy. They can be adjusted forward or backward with a quick twist of the thumb screw on either side.Would recommend and buy again for another vehicle.
