Nayasa Microwave Idli Maker - Makes 12 Idlis (Exclusive From Great Elect)

I am from Northern parts of India where we don’t make idlis and other South Indian dishes at home. But I am a big fan of South Indian delicacies. They are delicious, easily digestible and on top of all, maintain the nutritional value of the food. I have never cooked idlis at home and decided to give this idli maker a try. And I admit that I failed terribly first time but learned a lot from the mistakes and since then, I have never had to go to a restaurant to enjoy the idlis. THE GOOD: 1. The quality of the plastic used is very good and it doesn’t smell when you cook the idlis for longer duration in microwave owen. 2. Each plate has four slots and there are three plates so you can effectively make 12 idlis in one go. 3. The container as well as the plates are easy to clean and assemble. 4. There is a small vent at the top to let excess heat escape the container so that one doesn’t get hurt by accumulated steam THE BAD (not exactly!!): 1. Having some way to secure the lid with red bottom container is desirable. 2. A handle on the top (or small flaps on the red bottom vessel) would make it easy to remove the whole setup from the microwave easy (specially when its hot after cooking). TIP: Make the batter a little thinner and try making small size idlis. They cook approximately in 7-12 mins depending on the thickness of the batter and the power raying of the microwave oven used. In short, I would say this is the best 20 bucks I have spent in buying any kitchen item !! I CAN SUURE YOU THAT YOU WONT REGRET GETTING THIS IDLI MAKER !!!

Well, I was looking for Idli maker stand with least possible investment and quick outcome...All other options present are either too bulky and need pressure cooker or they prepare very very small idlis...Then I found this...I want to list some main highlights here 1. THis is made of real good plastic...so it will last. 2. Very easy to clean.. 3. Makes 12 idlis in no time in microwave..very good option for quick breakfast preparation.Idlis are perfectly made..(depends on how you made your batter) 4. Pretty cheap for the price...

We used it like once a month and after about 3 years the plastic started breaking and then we threw it out. Usage was pretty simple, and cleaning also not too difficult if you leave it in water for some time. I brought a steel one next time which works amazingly well. P.S.: Price has more than doubled compared to what I paid for and so now it is not worth, better to get a steel one.

This microwave idly maker was very disappointing. It leaks water from the bottom from the plastic valve, and is impossible to use without water running in the microwave and floor. Very messy to just make idly's with this aweful idly maker. Therefore, the Idly's turned out to be very very dry. I am back to my stove top idly maker. I will not buy or recommend this product to anyone - EVER!!

I'm a South Indian and I love Idlis. There's nothing like eating steamed idlis with delicious chutney. I eat Idlis all the time, anytime as they're light and easy to digest. I have a pressure cooker and an Idli stand which I used till now but it's too much of a hassle timing it, to make the perfect idlis. Also, it's a lot harder for the idlis to come clean out of the plates even though I apply ghee. I saw this first at my friend's house when I wanted to eat Idlis and he used this. I was blown away by how simple it was but still the idlis came off the plates just like that and smooth. I came home, instantly bought this item. Shipping was fairly quick and the item I received was in excellent condition. I've lost count of how many Idlis I've eaten (should count the carbs haha) but this is one of the best purchases I've made.

Not that good .... idlis dry up in microwave ... the shape is not good either

This item is very very useful and comes really handy for quick South Indian breakfast. So far I have been using this from the past 2 weeks and so far I have no complaints. Quality: The quality of plastic is good and it is decently sturdy. The Idli trays are strong enough and their character doesn't change even after leaving them for 6 minutes in the microwave. (The last set I had, used to have this problem). Quantity: I wish this set could host up to 4 trays (16 Idlis) so that it would made our life little more easy. But this is not a complain, just a "better-to-have" idea. Size: The Idlis when cooked are small. Each Idli spot holds only 1.5 oz (50 ml) of batter. You can imagine how big the end product could be. :) Cleaning: Very very easy to clean if you let the whole unit soak in water (hot/cold) for 10 minutes. Cleaning the steel unit needs more effort, but that is an entirely a different ball game (with respect to taste) --> :) Bottom Line: I really enjoyed this item and surely recommend buying this.

Works as advertised, not as fiddly as I’d thought. Very nice product.

I have like this microwave idly maker as it saves time and is easy to clean. The ONLY problem is that as shown on Amazon.in it does not deliver the Dhokla plate as shown.

The delivered item was not at all the one described. It was some 2 dollar worth (INR 132) cheap plastic made. The seller charged a whopping 50 dollars for the same 😅 Also there were just 2 plates against 3 mentioned in the description. Never trust the seller.

Plastic idli maker. Idli maker costly $35 canadian. Better then Almunium idli maker. Fill water in bottom and pack and microwave heat for 4 minutes. Once 4 minutes done then use Idli batter and fill all 3 idli maker stand with 4 idli batter space. And setup all and microwave for 8 minutes. Once done ✔️ then open idli maker and check its ready to eat. Until now no issue. But if you come from India it's cost you rupees 300 to 500 only.
