Written by a native French speaker! Review: Adults Should Learn French Like a Child - This book is perfect, especially when combined with " Beginner French Phrases" and "The Big French Vocabulary Workbook." I studied French in high school and CC years ago. Now that I am moving to France I have found the best way to reintroduce myself to the language is through children's books. They provide all the essentials, in bite-size bits, with pronunciations, grammar tips, etc., all without trying to stuff it down your throat like adult language courses do. So, teach me like a child. I'm loving it! Review: EXCELLENT! - BEGINNER FRENCH WORKBOOK [Level 1, Vocab Booster, Bilngoal] could be an excellent textbook for a Middle-school program or for astute home-schoolers. [I recommend starting on p35 with school vocabulary to be used daily]. The scaffolding of lessons to build slowly on what is learned could also work for a summer intensive course/camp. Self-taught adults can also use it to start their language journey or to brush up on what they learned in high school. I would have students complete exercises in the workbook, then write vocabulary and creative sentences/stories/pictures with labels in a personal notebook. Games to reinforce the vocabulary could be easily designed and implemented. The "phoneticized" pronunciation guides are helpful for independent studies, but I would recommend adding basic French apps or games online for improved listening opportunities (there are plenty of free ones available). At $10.99 it's well worth the printed pages and content. No need to buy more expensive textbooks with their full-color photos, as the grey-toned images here are cute yet accurate (younger students could draw the images again in their notebooks). The word list in the back is also extremely helpful. [I am a language instructor but not a native French speaker, so I won't comment on the regional pronunciation or vocabulary.] I highly recommend this book.

Great companion workbook
This works great alongside a more structured text or approach. It has bite-sized homework amounts of related vocab, with usually 3 exercises following each to reinforce the vocab acquisition. The periodic pages of "sentence builders" are very helpful in teaching.

Highly Recommend
I have been teaching French for several years and tried this book to teach French in a small group setting. We found a few errors in it, but overall, this is the best French workbook that I have found! I highly recommend it. I love the way students are writing French sentences within a few lessons. I think it's an excellent balance of information and I like the progression.

Has errors; otherwise good
I like this workbook, it is designed in a friendly way that is easy to use, with useful words and phrases and opportunities to practice. BUT keep an eye out for errors, as I have noticed several of them!

Best workbook for beginners from scratch
I bought this workbook with any high expectations. I was nicelly surprised how well structured it was for complete beginner from zero experience. Bigger letters and pictures with exercises maybe seems like for kids but this is the best approach how to actually learn and remember stuff. Learning with the book os fun, easy and you will love it. It will show you very basic stuff and help you to have great ground base for future progression which I really appreaciate in my journey of learning. Is important to practise multiple things like listening and reading as well. But this workbook I am truly happy with it. Highly recomended to everyone! Only one wish that the last level of workbook (3) would come out early.

Easy to use
I really like this book, very simplified and doesn’t overtax my brain! Love the format! Makes for straightforward learning. I’m using Google translate and YouTube alongside as I find I need help with correct pronunciation so listening is also key. I’m hoping to purchase the level 2 book next in this range.
