I am not dead. Which is cool.
I found this by googling squirrels weber and metal gas hose, in the hopes one would appear. And this did. And it's perfect. I spent about an hour thinking I'd somehow tripped the safety on my trusty old weber 220 by swapping in a new propane bottle -- and doing the startup steps to reset it. It would only go up to 350 degrees. .... but what's that gas smell? DUH. Glad to say I am still here, even though I fired up the weber like 3x to try and "fix it". Swapping bottles I found loads of toothmarks on the rubber hose. Which led to the lovely aroma of gas while firing the grill. Nice. But I am not dead, which is cool and this is the solution to the weber not firing up, and squirrels being the most annoying rodents on the planet. AND it's $10 cheaper than the weber hose and shorter (4ft vs 6 ft) which makes for a nicer install. YAY!!! WIN!!

Great hose until the fitting melted
I bought this hose to connect an 11 lb propane tank to a Weber Performer charcoal grill with gas ignition. On this grill propane is used to light charcoal, and then turned off. The hose worked perfectly for a few months until I got the grill very hot to cook for a large group (40+) of guests. At some point during that cook the tank connection melted and deformed. The tank was on the bottom wire shelf of the grill, placing the plastic hose fitting about 8 inches below the bottom of the kettle and in open air. I was surprised it melted because the grill itself has a plastic handle and table top, and neither of those pieces melted. The fitting does not seem to be working properly anymore, and frankly I don't trust it, so I will discontinue use.It was a great hose, though, until it melted. The stainless braid does seem to serve as a heat shield for the hose, but of course not the fitting. I'm tempted to contact the manufacturer and see what they say.

Much better than your typical rubber hose!
I decided it was time to stop using 16oz propane tanks on my portable grill and move up to a 20lb Blue Rhino tank. My first attempt to run the grill off the larger tank failed due to a defective hose. (Too bad for me that I had waited past the return period to try it: who would have thought that a simple gas hose wouldn't work?) Anyway, this Bayou Classic hose caught my eye when I started looking for alternatives to the defective Coleman: it looked sturdy, I liked the stainless steel sheathing, and although it had only two reviews, both gave it five stars. I went ahead and ordred one, and used it for the first time just a couple of hours ago. It attached to tank and grill easily and worked like a charm. The build quality is great considering the price. I agree with reviewer Yi-Chen Li: more people should use this hose. I certainly had a better experience with this one than with the one carrying the major brand name.

Bye-bye to hungry, hose-chewing squirrels
Apparently my backyard squirrel colony believes I enjoy serving them rubber propane gas grill lines, because they have chewed through them as though they are licorice sticks. As you can imagine, this is not only dangerous (as I shut the valve off at the tank between using the grill and the sound of escaping gas as you ignite the grill can be somewhat disconcerting) but frustrating - if I forgot to shut the value off I am greeted with an empty tank and sad faces fall upon the hot-dog-hungry masses waiting to be fed. Now I am happier than Forest Gump first spying Captain Dan sitting on the bayou dock. So far two seasons in and it works as advertised, doing the job of protecting my gas grill line from the bucktoothed, flying furball horde. Just what the doctor ordered!

This product deserves a good review and more users
This product deserves a good review and more users. I use it with a Weber Q 2200 to save trips to HW stores for those green 1lb bottles. it's well built, easily lit, no leak, no concern about squirrel bite and less possible for popping connection. My local HW shops either sell the $25 or the $16 rubber hoses, marketed by two popular BBQ brands. While there is nothing technically wrong with rubber, I trust the SS braided tubes better because they are less likely to expand and lose the connector joint when heated. My usual regulated gas cookers (5-30 PSI) uses SS braided hose, so I didn't want to settle for rubber when dealing with unregulated gas (~120PSI in outdoor temp). I am happy that I waited for the non prime shipping, and feel safe to walk away from my grill for 10 mins.

Nice Construction and Stainless Steel. Did not work, possible QC issue, easy refund.
So I bought this to use a 20lb gas tank with my coleman roadtrip LXE. I wanted a heavy duty stainless steel bread and something was was high quality. While this hose looked and appeared to be superb quality and construction it did not work for me. After hours of troubleshooting I thought my grill or the regulator was the culprit, but it turns out this hose had some issue which was restricting flow. I'm sure this was just a one off quality control issue for me. I contacted the seller they happily refunded me. For that I have given 3 stars since The seller was kind and reasonable.

Take THAT you pesky squirrels!
Take THAT you pesky squirrels! I purchased one of these after squirrels ate through TWO of the regular hose type adapters. And that was after I attempted to cover the second one in an effort to thwart the rodents and they still found a way to chew through the hose. DANGER! Well, I am happy to say that this has solved my problem.

Exactly what I needed to replace my 2nd Weber adapter ...
Exactly what I needed to replace my 2nd Weber adapter hose for my Baby Q 2200. The first Weber hose failed inside the balloon end, where the plastic failed, so a secure seal became impossible. The 2nd was chewed through by some kind or rodent. This one is made metal. Time will tell if this is durable, but at least I have no fear of another sharped-toothed critter biting through my gas hose.My only concern is that when I opened the safety from the propane balloon all the way, the crimp near the brass end appeared to bulge.
