I do suggest you put the bag in the sink to fill up as some ingredients will topple over while you pour. The slider zip lock makes it easy to seal up and pack away. I also use these for meats/steaks when I separate a family pack. The plastic thickness is well balanced—not too thin and not excessively thick. They protect food exactly as designed. My arthritic fingers do not have the dexterity they once did, and the slider mechanism is much easier to use consistently and securely. These bags are pretty decent. I have noticed an issue with repeated openings d closing of the zipper part of the bag. With repeated use of the zipper unless you punch the slider with your fingers with a little pressure, after repeated use, the sealing part of the bag will become unsealed. For the price and quantity you can always just toss them after a bit.
