Could I attach the clips to a cable machine at the gym?

You should be able to attach them to the cable machine but you might need to replace the original clips with some slightly larger steel clips since the original ones are made from aluminum. However keep in mind that a cable machine is not necessarily designed for speed training and therefore it might be better to exchange the original rubber band instead. I replaced it with an entire band set, which I ordered from Amazon as well (~$20). This allows me a large range of resistance variation but keeps the speed component. In addition it is easier on your joins compared to a cable machine and you have more space to move around. A machine limits your available space quite a bit. Just some thoughts.
