what size is XL in this garment

I would say this was size 18/20. I'm a 16 and I bought size large which is very roomy. Lovely quality too! Hope this helps.

From the back of the neck to the bottom of the gown it is 44 inches. I am 5 feet tall/small and the dressing gown comes about 5 inches above my ankle. Hope this helps

Is this robe absorbent like a cotton towel? Want it for post-swimming, thanks!

It's not like a towel. It's more t-shirt material than towel. But that said it would be less absorbant.
