I know that people laugh about Ryobi tools, but here's the thing. They're a good quality tool at a reasonable price. I spend a lot of time in my wood shop, and I ordered this saw for a light weight alternative for quick crosscuts. It worked out great. There's all the power I need, good battery life, and provides a decent cut. Go ahead and spend a couple of dollars on the Milwaukee or DeWalt when this does the same job and results.

What can I say, after building a house with the old Ryobi Brush tech circular saw and breaking the safety guard; I decided to buy a new saw. Less than 50 hours of use later it is broken. The new ‘brushless brushes’ do not hold up to long term use. These small what I describe as graphite carbon brush replacements overheat and explode rendering the motor and machine useless. In the old days one could rely on a brush motor to last a number of years and fail upon using the brush; however now the motor is useless once the ‘brushless brush’ explodes. I tried to repair it and was able to make it run, however without the ability to open the motor and change this part; there is no way to run the machine without a new motor. This is my second Ryobi brushless tool to fail in the same manner. Both with very little use. As I mentioned my brush based saw is still running (unsafe) but a whole house now built and it works. The new technology is built to fail and be thrown away and bought again. The old was easily repaired and has a much longer life expectancy. DO NOT BUY Ryobi Brushless Tools. They need to switch back the technology or improve the existing one. See pic of what is left of the ‘brushless brush’.

This Ryobi Cordless circular saw is simply the best for the price point easy to use straight from the box would recommend to my Grandma just keep spare battery ut cuts clean just buy.

Not for heavy cutting, but I do a lot of cutting of 3/4" pine, it's quick, easy, and cuts accurately. Light weight, so very profitable.
