I have owned Apple AirPod Pros and Samsung Galaxy Bud Pros, both of which have some great features but the Linkbuds are just so much better for what I need them for. I am a heavy user, listening for several hours at night to help me get to sleep. These fit perfectly inside my ear and once they’re in, they stay in. Previously I’d found my AirPods were comfortable for side sleeping but they would fall out easily and get tangled in the bedding or carried off somewhere by our puppy. With expensive headphones that isn’t something I want to risk happening regularly and these have certainly fixed that problem. The Galaxy Buds would also fall out and sometimes the tips would come off and get stuck in my ear. They were also very uncomfortable for side sleeping. After owning 2 premium headphones I was reluctant to part with more money but it’s been the best decision I’ve made in a long time. The sound quality is excellent, the noise cancellation is fantastic (in my opinion it exceeds that of both the AirPod Pros and the Galaxy Buds Pros), the battery life is a huge step up, the case charges very quickly and even with the Linkbuds inside it’s incredibly light. I’ve found that as the Linkbuds are so small I can also use them under my ear defenders when I’m using any of the loud machinery we use for maintaining our fields. Having Alexa or Google Assitant built in has been massively useful too. I like having my notifications read to me when I can’t get to my phone. The companion app is brilliant too. Honestly, I love these things so much. Other members of my household have also stated that they will switch to them when their current headphones/earbuds need replacing as they are so feature rich. Yes, they’re not the top of the range Sony earbuds but I don’t feel I’m missing out on anything as these are 100% perfect for my needs.

These TWS buds are amazing. Sound The sound quality is out of this world. High notes come through crystal clear, bass is deep without being "woofy" or muddy, and the mids are balanced well. Noise Cancelling These buds have 3 NC modes; Normal, ANC and Transparency. Normal is as you'd expect, but ANC and Transparency are something else entirely. Putting these buds in with ANC turned on is like the world gets sucked away, leaving only you and your media; only truly deep or sharp sounds get through. Transparency mode is almost the opposite; every noise is replicated by the earbuds and balanced with the media you're playing, so you can hear both clearly. Unlike other transparency modes, there is no noticeable lag and nothing sounds distorted or robotic. You can quickly switch between these modes by tapping the left earbud. Fit and Comfort Sony's goal with the Linkbuds line was to make earbuds you could wear all day, and these fit that perfectly. They're incredibly lightweight, to the point that if I switch to Transparency mode and pause my music, I can forget I'm wearing them; I've even fallen asleep while wearing them and they didn't disturb my sleep. Several sizes of silicone earbud tips are included so you can dial in the fitment perfectly; this was crucial for me because my ear canals are different sizes. Case, Charging and Battery The case for these is perfect; it's proportions make it perfectly pocketable even when I'm wearing skinny jeans with almost non-existent front pockets. It's also light and small enough that you don't need to worry about finding a spot to keep it. Charging from fully flat takes about 4 hours, but the headphones themselves charge fully in about 45 minutes. When fully charged, you'll get 6 hours with ANC/Transparency off, and 4.5 with either of them on. Including the case, you'll get between 15-20 hours of use depending on modes and volume. Voice Assistants I use Google Assistant on my Pixel 6, and these work almost perfectly. Tap and hold on the right earbud until you hear a second chime and Assistant will read the date, time, weather and unread notifications. If you continue to hold after the second chime, you can ask GA anything you would normally and it will respond as normal. I have noticed that sometimes GA doesn't activate fully when prompted, or the voice recognition messes up when you're in noisy environments, but Voice Assistants have problems like that innately so I can't 100% say this is the earbud's fault. Overall and incredible package, and amazing value for money. 100% recommended for someone who wants high quality TWS earbuds without wanting/being able to pay for Apple's offerings

Pros: I like these a lot the sound quality is immense and I even like the fact you can EQ these somewhat in the app. They last a fair amount of time and charge very quickly. They’re quite comfortable once you get used to how they position in the ear. The noise cancellation is perfect for what I need. Cons: I have a few problems with these. The touch sensitivity is TOO sensitive. When I put them away in the case even without touching the sides of the ear bud it will pause and play my music or keep changing to ambient mode. If I wear an over ear hat it will sometimes do the same. If I lay down with these it will keep doing the same also. So much so that I’ve now disabled the touch controls as it was more annoying than useful. Sometimes when I put the ear buds back into the case to charge one of the ear buds doesn’t actually start charging. I have no idea why this occurs. I will still have charge in the case but only one will charge to 100%. It’s fairly annoying because I can only find out once I go to use them again. The ambient mode isn’t the best. It sounds like you’re listening to yourself and other people through a microphone and there’s a lot of static background noise. Also it’s very hard to hear what people are saying even with ambient mode on. Overall: A few annoying problems but overall the pros out weigh the cons for me. I really enjoying listening to music with these.

So I bought these after a different pair broke & figured to try them & see if they'd compare to others at a similar price points; (like my Nothing Ear 1s & now broken Soundcore L.A.P 2s). Now to begin with I wasn't at all sure as there seemed to be some high end hissing, even after a firmware update. However, I then downloaded the real connect app that measure my ears & it got better, especially after playing with the equaliser via the Sony headphone App (which you'll also need to download). I changed my phone EQ to & I was becoming more convinced but was still pondering to maybe send them back & shell out for a more expensive pair & that's without being able to use the 360 degree function as I don't have a subscription to 1 of those Apps right now. Then it also did a software update & that changed it further so that now I'm seriously impressed & honestly think you'd have to spend well over £200 to get close to these, especially with added cool functions. I will also say, they're super light & stay firmly in my smallish ears, & I've since seen several reviews that say they are a good alternative to the XM4's but the ANC isn't quite as good & unless you're an audiophile (i'm not, neither can I hear the same frequencies I did 30+ yrs ago), they're not that far off. They also pair with more than 1 device & switch automatically & have a really cool speaking feature that recognises if you start talking (or cough) & pauses what you're listening to, then restarts it 5/15/30 secs, or never, later, depending on your settings. Preset is for15 secs. Unlike with previous things, I hadn't researched the hell out of these but figured they had decent reviews & if I then bought a "Used - Like New' version, that brought them down to £97, so I had little to lose trying. They really are like new btw the outer box had been torn but I honestly couldn't tell the difference as the cables etc seemed untouched. Honestly, with a quick clean of the silicone tips just in case,I'd also recommend that aspect because at this price, they're not just really good, they're amazing. Needless to say I'm delighted & they're staying. I'm not known for my verbose reviews btw but for the money, I'm seriously impressed & just hope this helps someone who's as indecisive & untrusting of some reviews as I normally am. And anyone else of course.

As you would expect from Sony these earbuds sound fantastic, especially when you consider how tiny they are. A very punchy, but not overly bassy sound with nice mids and highs. Out of the box they may not be to everyone's liking so downloading the Sony Connect app is a must as, amongst many other things, you can tailor the sound to suit your taste, in addition to enabling useful features like "speak to chat" which automatically switches to ambient mode so you can hear the person you're talking too and switches back to Noise Cancelling when you stop talking or tap the right bud once. Switching from AAC to LDAC improves the audio quality further, BUT doing so reduces the battery life considerably. In AAC with NC enabled you get around 6.5 hours - that nosedives to a not too impressive 3.5 hours when you switch to LDAC. Having said that I'm pushed to really notice the difference between AAC and LDAC because, being born in the mid 60's, my ears are shot to pieces, especially at the higher frequency range, so AAC is perfectly adequate for me and I suspect most others too. There's also another "but" (sorry Sony)... When you charge the earbuds in the provided case and close the lid, the charging indicator comes on for about 3 seconds (either orange or green, depending how much battery you have left in the charging case) but then goes off again. So, in short, you have absolutely no idea as to the status of the charging. Are they at 50%? Maybe they're at 75%?... Nobody knows (not even Sony) until you take them out of the charging case, pop them back in your ears and have a look on the Sony Connect app. Overall, for this pricepoint, these are truly wonderful earbuds and you'd be hard pushed to do better with your money elsewhere in terms of build and sound quality. It's just a shame they're somewhat let down with underwhelming battery life when using LDAC, and a puzzling / not very well thought out charge indication system... 5 stars, minus 1 for the niggles. EDIT: Only had them a couple of days and the right earbud started emitting a high-pitched feedback sound. Investigated the issue and, unfortunately, it's extremely common. Sony's support website actually says this is not a fault and can be caused by moisture, but I was wearing them indoors whilst doing absolutely nothing - so where the moisture came from I have no idea. Anyway, I followed their suggestions to fix it - initialize and reset the earbuds - but the problem persisted. I put them back in the case and came back to them a few hours later and everything was fine again. But, after about an hour the feedback sound came back again. This, clearly, is an issue and it's an issue on a very large scale affecting a lot of units if the online forums and Reddit are anything to go by. Sony, it seems, have shunned any responsibility by claiming it's normal behaviour, which is ludicrous, so my best advice - as good as these buds are when they work - is to avoid them and go for something else. A big shame but it's just not worth the risk. Rating down from 4 to 1 star.

I’ve had these earbuds for nearly a year and they really show that. I carry them around with me all the time so there is a few scratches but that’s not the problem. The hinges feel as if they are about to fall off and there is a lot of movement in the lid when they are closed. Other than that, the earbuds are great. I don’t know how they do it but the noise cancelling is spot on, if I have one bud in then that whole side of the world is silent - both and it will filter out an office. In terms of sound quality, they are the best iem’s that I have tried, I normally opt for over ear headphones but I needed something that I could just pop in. There is not to much bass and the highs are balanced - also not tinny at all. They come with different sized ear plugs but I found the ones fitted by default fit my ears the best. They don’t come out when walking, the only time I’ve had one fall out was when eating but that’s to be expected. The app and Bluetooth all work smoothly however they keep trying to push this spacial aware sound software that requires a subscription to use - I don’t want this if I’m paying around 200 (when I bought them) for a pair of earbuds. Overall I wouldn’t buy them if you are planning on having them in your pocket wherever you go, the hinge seems to not be able to take it.

Let's first start off with the possitives: - I got these for £99 and for that prices the audio quality is decent and a little above my Soundcore Life A1's. -The battery life is great especially considering the weight and dependant on the mode you can get 4 - 7 hours. -They are very comfortable. The Average: -Both the noise cancelling and ambient modes are mediocre. The noise cancelling cuts out next to no highs but is very good at cutting out lower sounds like tyre noise in the car. The Ambient/pass through is a nice to have but has one of the loudest microphone "hisses" I've come across, yes they will always have some form of this but for it to be of any use to hear people whilst listening to music there will always be a noticeable hiss. (Set to the default in the app of 10/20 on the slider). The bad: -The software is just awful. After one week the left earbud started whistling very loudly, this however was fortunately fixed by resetting the earbud. And what in the end led to me returning them was that 3 weeks in both the ambient and sound cancelling modes both earbuds started making a constant "wind" noise, literally as if someone was blowing on the microphone. A reset did not fix this and from what other have said online this is quite common and either down to a fault or the fireware as it often happens after an update. -The controls are also really rather annoying and is linked to the software once again. By default you have the ability to play, pause and skip on the left ear and toggle through your sound modes on the right (Noise cancelling, ambient and off). There is however absolutely no way to have these setting and also be able to change your volume through say a long press, you have to choose what you want to give up. If you want to play, pause and skip whilst also being able to adjust your volume you have to give up the ability to change what noise mode you are in and will have to open the app to change it. In the app settings there are even two unassigned slots for opening apps but you can't assign them to say your volume controls. These really could have been perfect for me if the software didn't break their functionality with the constant wind/whistling noises and if you could actually assign the controls to something useful. If you are lucky and get no software bugs these really are nice (Especially if you can get them for £99) but if like me you end up with software issues they become an instant return.

I had airpods pro, sony xm1000 4 , various recounded mid price earbuds recommended by what hifi and bose quiet comfort mark 1 and these are by far the best. Airpods the sound is OK with goodish ANC. XM1000 is like brick in your ear and personally I found the anc poor. The bose were also big but with great sound but were literally painful with the clip around ear. Let me add that I'm not a fan of in ear earbuds as I find them painful but I accept the need for ear sealing for noise isolation as part of and. So what makes these sony linkbuds s so great? Firstly, you are going to say wow that's great sound as soon as you put them on. There's a richness to it with solid base that blows the airpods pro mark 1 out if the equation. Its really very vert brilliant up there and maybe better than bose. I always test ANC to White noise plane background on YouTube and these to an excellent job and a large part is fit (see below) . It's not going to move the world but it is very good and much better than some mid range sonys I've had. Besides when the music sound is this good this is all you'll hear. There is the weight and size and design. These are a third of the weight of the xm s and all the better for it. The design is a perfect fir your ear and fits like a glove. Sony use recycled plastic and OK it doesn't look as Premium as the xm s but with sound comfort and price like this who cares. Then there's price. These came out at £180 and now they are regularly £120. That's less than half the price of airpods pro 2 and the new bose and overall their brilliant. I wanted excellent sound great anc and good comfort and I got all of that with superior comfort. Buy them . You won't be disappointed. Note to Sony-- get your mobile phone design sorted and stop that 21: 9 sorted and bring back a xperia 3 so I can use sony with sony 😀 (sorry for typos-- did this on my phone)

Update: - the last firnware has problems (4.0.0)!! A hass noise occured after cca. 1h of usage with AS or ANC. Return them... Those are one of the best noise cancellation in ear headsets that i test, and i order them specially for this. Clearly made specially for those who talk on the phone. Ambient mode is also great, natural, it's like you don't wear them while you listent music/calls and able to hear the surroundings . Music sounds amazing too, i know there are better for this (in bass) but i am content about the clear sound and response in frequency , and I'm a music maniac. They are very lite, you barley feel them in the ears and no problem if your turn your head with the ear on the pillow. Battery last enough. 360 Sound it's a worry, we don't need another incompatibile spatial sound tech. with what we have allready, but It sound nice, it's a plus. - cons: ony L headset works with phone calls. In mono mode( or while the other is charging) -a little pricey but it worth the money. -rigid customization for the tactile buttons, but at the end you will find a proper setup. - HighRes means only dedicated Sony LDAC, not AptxHD . Bad move, Sony... But 5stars! Update: i order a 2nd pair for my wife.

Before I mention the issues these earphones not only sound amazing but also have excellent Active noise cancellation, when it works. However in my time of using it I experienced 2 major flaws which turns out are quite common and many other people experience as well. Problem 1 started almost a year into using them. Whenever I turn on ANC a weird hissing sound comes from one side, which turns out is a common issue with these, and the fix on Sonys website is “turn noise canceling off”, kinda defeating the purpose of anc earphones. Problem 2 started just shy of the 2 year mark. The right side earphone only lasts for about an hour on full charge while the left one is fine and still gives around 4-5 hrs. Again something many other people have reported. Considering the price of these I expected them to definitely last slightly longer.

Initially I rated the earbuds quite high- they are very comfortable and have good sound quality. I like the adaptive audio function, and the overall functionality of the earbuds. However, just 3 months post purchase, without only sporadic, gentle and careful use, without warning I experienced an extremely loud screeching in the left earbud, which was very startling and incredibly uncomfortable. This sound continued until I removed them and returned them to their charging case. Si è this time there has been a persistent wind-like noise (white noise) in the left earbud bud. This has resulted in an unpleasant experience whilst using them and generally rendered them useless/unusable.
