These splices worked well. When heating the final assembly it is helpful to lay them flat and heat them uniformly from their middle working out to the ends. Heat gradually so as not to melt wire insulation.

A torch is needed to melt sharing tubbing.

These kits work extremely well. The metal crimp piece is heavy duty to make the splice yet the crimp piece crimps easily. The heat shrink tubes are fabulous. They are thick, shrink well made, and at the end of the heat sealing process, a sticky sealant is released from the inside of the tube just as it tightens up to make an excellent water tight seal. If you need to do a double splice because your wire ends don't meet, the heat shrink tubes will shrink and seal over a previous tube that has already been sealed. Very effective, easy to use product. Compared to the compression tubes, I think this is far better. You always have to worry about the gasket on the compressed ends of the tube getting a good seal. They require more tools to install and are bulkier. 3M's splice kit is so easy to use and seals a longer length of the connecting wires, not just at a narrow compressed gasket.

This item was amazing I thought I might burn it with the torch I was using but they stayed clear and reacted just as they were designed
