One of my new favorite freeze-dried meals. Bought it on a two-day hiking trip through the presidential mountains in NH. It serves two, but I was so hungry I ate the whole thing in one sitting. It cooked so quickly, tasted like something I would cook from home, and gave me great energy.

I got one pack of the cheesy chicken & rice broccoli to taste test. It was advertised as a serving for 2 people. Packaging was very sturdy. Directions said to simply open the top and pour in the hot water. The package held the weight of the water just fine. It sat and soaked for maybe 5 or 10 minutes. Definitely edible. Flavor was decent. I’ve always been very fussy about food just because my palate isn’t very broad. This was fine. Could use a little seasoning but very easy to personalize to our own preference. I ate half the package (1 serving) and left it in the fridge. Ate the 2nd half the next day after microwaving it in a bowl. Tasted fine. Texture was a tad mushier as expected. Chicken was decent. I’ll happily purchase in bulk.

I didn't expect much from a survival food product, so I was pleasantly surprised at this dinner. It's not enough for 2 hungry people, however. My adult son could have eaten it all himself. It needed no extra salt or pepper. The broccoli was kind of pathetic, though. They are just small specks. But again, the flavor was just fine. I did have to use 1 1/2 cups boiling water instead of 1 1/3 cups. I stirred in the water well, sealed the bag, let it sit 10 minutes, opened and stirred and closed again to let sit another 10-15 minutes. The texture and consistency was perfect. Is it worth $14? Not really, if you eat it often. It's also definitely not "health food". I'll keep one in my BOB, though. I would store more of them if they weren't so expensive.

Delicious option for camping, hiking, or whatever. Kids loved it, and request having it again on the next trip

I bought this to try for my international travel days. There are some airports I have to stay in that only offer junk food and drinks as options. So I bought this to see if it was any good, hoping to take it with me when I travel. This is my first "hiking" food to try. And I was so pleasantly surprised! It's incredibly cheesy! So if you don't like cheese flavor, maybe try a different version. But it was super easy to cook and very filling and tasty! Will definitely be trying other versions for my trips!
