Travis Touchdown is killing to be Number 1
I'm became a huge Suda 51 fan after purchasing and playing Killer 7 and Shadows Of The Damned. I wanted to play No More Heroes but I didn't owned a Wii. Another funny thing that is I didn't even know that No More Heroes on the Wii was being remade for PS3 with HD graphic and using PS Move. I soon brought the game on Amazon when I heard that game was already out. I was very satisfied when I play No More Heroes:Heroes Paradise. The control with the PS Move was great and easy to get into.Plus,You can use your regular PS controller if you don't own the PS Move(It way more funnier using the PS Move!!) The game graphic isn't cutting edge but the crazy style that this game has will make You less care about the graphic. The plot line of this game is very simple. Your Travis Touchdown and you need to kill the top 10 assassin to be number 1. This isn't going to be a easy task completing because each boss you go against will get tougher to beat. Also, keep in mind that you will have to do work task or do assassination task to make money for entry fees that allow you to fight the bosses and make progress in the game. You can ride on Travis motorcycle to get to stores, job tasks, assassination tasks, main story missions and etc. The combat in No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise is extremely fun and can get very gory in a heartbeat. The AI is good and will give you one hell of a fight. The PS3 version also get five boss battle straight from No More Heroes 2 and can be access at certain saves point of the game and there is now option to replay any cut scene and boss battle any time. Plus, there a Time Attack mode,Very Sweet difficult and DLC at the PSN. No More Heroes: Heroes Paradise is great game to purchase if you looking for something different.

A fun game if you've never played the original
My first introduction to Suda51 was Shadows of the Damned. I really enjoyed the quirky, adult humor and characters of that game. It also made me want to try one of his most well known games, No More Heroes. It's quite interesting reading the reviews for the PS3 version, because the majority of people who have played the original Wii version don't sound all too impressed with this copy of the game. As for me being an individual who never played the original, I can definitely say it was one of the more enjoyable PS3 games I've had pleasure to experience, simply due to the fun factor. Shadows of the Damned was "ok" and cute (yes, you read that correctly, I said cute), but I didn't enjoy it as much as NMH. In No More Heroes, the story is cheesey, completely dumb and waaaaay over-the-top. That may sound like a negative to some people, but I found it works so well in this. It's like if Quentin Tarantino suddenly became obsessed with Star Wars one day and decided to make a game, only to reference it like crazy. The story, gameplay, side missions and bosses in No More Heroes never got old for me, even after three playthroughs. The upscaled graphics I thought looked nice as well. I did run into quite a few screen tearing issues and glitches (DLC Saber/Mine Mission, Bike getting stuck next to objects), but those are little things and not really game breaking. I know this sounds like a 4 or 5 star review, but I gave it a 3 star because it becomes a really short game after playing it once. You can get to Rank 1 in a matter of a few hours if you decide to skip all the side mission tasks. If Amazon allowed an extra half star to their review system, I would add that half star just for the amount of fun I had while playing this. Good game.

My SPLEEN!
I first beat this game at a friends house back when it came out for the Nintendo Wii. I thought this game was amazing because of how unusual its style was. The cut scenes were hilarious, the game play was especially fun, and it became a very memorable game to me. After hearing about the sequel, I was tempted to purchase a Nintendo Wii just to get both No More Heroes games. This did not seem like too strong of an incentive to do so. I did buy a PlayStation 3 down the line and when I heard about this game being ported for the PlayStation 3, I knew right there and then I made the right choice in not buying a Nintendo Wii JUST for this game series. It was great to have a reason to play and beat this game again (I even got the Platinum trophy because I love this game so much!). It was also a breath of fresh air to be able to switch back and forth from Move to DualShock 3, since my arm got really tired after several hours of game play with the Move. Overall, this was a great purchase and I eagerly wait for the sequel!

Awesome Game
I love this game the dialog, voice acting, and graphics are right on the spot. Some freezing issues but i don't care i lover the game and have cleared it once. A patch should be coming out soon anyway! If you didn't like this game, why'd you buy it, you had to know what you were buying right? It's a Bloody fun romp caked with decapitated heads and bisected goons. the bosses are rather easy up to the number 2. Don't give up because it froze just save whenever you do something kinda big to avoid any loss. Enjoy the game.

Not as good as I hoped, but still pretty damn good
So I've been playing this game for a couple of hours and I think I'm ready to lay down my verdict. I had been anticipating this game for quite some time, as I had never had the chance to play through the Wii version. In some respects I am very disappointed, but the game does deliver in others. I'm an optimist, so let's start with the good. Quite frankly, this game has some of the best cutscenes I've ever seen in a video game. I'm saying that while openly stating that the graphics are pretty awful for a PS3 game. However, the sense of humor and style in each of the boss scenes will at the very least elicit a chuckle out of you, which is something that most new games fail to do. I openly cracked up laughing during one of the scenes when Travis is asked if he feels fear, and his response is "Wouldn't know, never felt it." It's somewhat reminiscent of the movie Kill Bill, except with more humor and less intellectualism. In addition, the boss battles are truly entertaining. There's a great deal of variety, and each boss has his/her own distinct sense of style. You have 10 assassins to kill to get to the top, and you'll have a blast with every single one of them. Now let's get to the bad. Quite frankly, any battle that isn't a boss fight is dreadfully boring. It essentially boils down to hold down the lock on button to block every single attack (there's almost no reason to let go of this button ever) and then spam buttons until the enemies die. The motion gimmick where you flick the controller in a direction to finish off an enemy may have been fun when the Wii was new, but now it's just a jarring and unwelcome interruption during combat. Pretty much every fight boils down to holding down L2, and spamming triangle and square until everything dies. I got so bored, I was literally watching youtube videos while playing the levels leading up the bosses. With the combat out of the way, No More Heroes has its own city which you can navigate in a GTA style fashion. Except...there's no reason for the city to be there at all because there's NOTHING in it. If there are only a few places you can visit (less than 10), why bother creating a huge city to house it? They might as well just have designed the city like your bedroom, and have you just select the destination. The sandbox style city construction isn't conducive to anything when there's absolutely nothing to do in the sandbox... Another gripe of mine is the saving. It's a huge pain in the ass. To save, you have to enter a restroom. It takes about 10 seconds just to enter the restroom, then it has to load, then you have to watch another 10 seconds of Travis sitting down on the toilet, and then toilet paper wrapping across the screen. Then you press save, and it takes 20-30 seconds at times, then you have to watch him stand back up, it has to load again, and then you'll reappear at the main screen. Saving shouldn't be a two minute endeavor! The game wasn't hard enough to justify saving since I wouldn't die, and I hated dealing with saving so much that I would only save when I was planning to turn the game off. It doesn't need to be that damn annoying! So anyways, this is a lengthy review so I'll try to sum it up. If you're the kind of gamer that actually loves watching cutscenes (think Metal Gear), you'll probably enjoy this game because the cutscenes are quite amusing. And basically, that's what this games boils down to. I found myself playing just because I wanted to see the cutscenes, and the actual game itself was just a punishment I had to endure before watching the scenes. I know, I know, I could just youtube the cutscenes but for some inexplicable reason my brain tells me that that would be "cheating." The boss battles are an exception of course, the boss battles are fantastic. With that said, if you're the kind of gamer who hates cutscenes, repetitive gameplay, or button-mashing style beat em ups, this game is really not for you. I can almost guarantee that you will hate it. 90% of the game really does boil down to holding the lock on button and mashing on square and triangle. With that said, I hope this review was helpful, I know the diehard No More Heroes fans out there will want to murder me but I tried to be as objective as possible.

A Mistake
I don't know about the other games in this series as I never played them, but buying this one was a mistake. You see I don't like games where you can't see half the time and you continually have to reset the view in order to see. There is something about these games from Japan where they don't want you to see (Bayonetta was a little like that and this is worse) and well, since my eyesight ain't so hot to begin with I just don't need a game like this. After all it makes it hard to defeat the big bad boss when you can't see him most of the time. I didn't play the game for very long and, well, I am seriously thinking about sending it back. I also didn't play the game with the motion controller so it might work better with that since it was originally a Wii game but the press R3 on Playstation to kill you enemy is kind of corny and didn't work very well for me. I admit that I might not be use to doing that as I have never played a game before where you had to press R3 and then move it in a certain direction to kill you foe and I am not sure I want to play a game like that. Not sure I care for the story line about a Mechanic (see Charles Bronson Jan-Michael Vincent movie) who wants to be the number one. Graphics didn't thrill me much but then again, I didn't play it for very long as it quickly got annoying and didn't hold my short attention span. I'll stick to games I like such as Dragon Age, Mass Effect and the Uncharted games rather than this game. I am sure this game will find some fans for this slash and hack kind of thing. I am not against those kinds of game either. It took awhile but I got to like Wet after awhile but always found Bayonetta extremely annoying with its countless cutscenes in the middle of battles and falling off of bridges in the middle of attacks. Onechanbara was okay but I found it rather primative. None of those game had you pressing R3 and moving it in a certain direction to finish off the foe. I am sure that there are games I will like much better than this one and are better than this one too.

I love it!
There have been several changes to the game from the original Wii version. The main differences between the two iterations are: High-definition graphics[6] English (everywhere) and Japanese (Asian territories only) voice acting. An unlockable "Very Sweet" Mode, which depicts Sylvia Christel, Shinobu, Holly Summers, Bad Girl and Jeane wearing more "appealing" attire. Ability to stock up to three Dark Side mode charges, rather than having it activate immediately, like in the original. Unused Dark Side mode charges left over in the player's stock at the end of a Ranking Battle rewards Travis Touchdown with additional LB dollars (as was the case with unused Anarchy in the Galaxy stocks in the original version). The song, "Heavenly Star", by the Genki Rockets was removed. Same goes for the music video that players could watch in the motel room in the Japanese and European Wii versions. The Ubisoft trailer (which only appeared in the North American Wii version) on the TV with the full Helter Skelter fight and Sylvia Christel introduction explaining the rules of the UAA has been removed and exactly the same intro from the start of the game serves as the trailer. Sylvia's calls to Travis on his cell phone are now heard on screen because of the PS Move motion controller lacking a speaker (although the use of the Wii remote's speaker was optional). Ability to warp straight to any Side-Job or Assassin Mission once the player has beaten any of them at least once. A retry option was added to the Side-Jobs, Assassin Missions, and Free Fights. However, it only appears when the player has failed in either. Five new Side-Jobs were added: Signaling, Sign Spinning, Kitty Race, Bust A Coconut and People Bowling. Five new Assassin Missions were added; Guard Break, Power-Down Battle, Big Bang Anarchy, Shortcake Freaks and Crowded Train Carnage. Five extra bosses from No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle are available to fight at certain points in the game. These are Skelter Helter, Nathan Copeland, Kimmy Howell, Matt Helms and Alice Twilight. Players are now able to revisit Ranking Fights and cinematics from Travis' motel room armchair, in the form of nightmares and dreams. A "Score Attack" mode has been added that lets the player refight all 15 of the game's bosses and compete for a high score online. This is also the only way for players to refight all of the NMH2 extras as they don't appear in nightmare mode.

Did they have anyone test this game?
First off, this is my first time playing No More Heroes so I have no bias from playing the original Wii version whatsoever. Now on to the actual game, it seems like the game developers spent all their time working on the boss fights and completely neglected everything else. Everything else about the game lacked polish. There's just SO many little things they could've fixed, I really question if the developers themselves even played through the game. The presentation is the only thing this game has going for itself. The characters are dynamic, unique and completely out of this world. I wouldn't say they are a memorable cast, but it is the lone bright spot of this otherwise flawed game. The voice acting is actually pretty good too, except for the Russian girl (wtf?). Though I would still prefer Japanese voices with subs. I also have no complaints about the anime/cartoony graphics either, it actually helps bring the characters to life. On to the rest of the nitty gritty BAD aspects of the game. There are tons of little problems in this game that add up to a frustrating experience. The driving controls are clunky and often times you get stuck. The save times are atrocious, requiring you to go through 2-3 load screens and it literally takes at least a minute or two to save. The camera angles are also horrible, which many games suffer from. Other little things in the gameplay mechanics are not smooth at all. For example, if I am mashing the square button, the game will think I'm charging up after an execution. Grabbing people is not as easy as it should be either. Little things like that matter and this game is just screaming for more polish. I wouldn't mind the repetitive nature of the gameplay if it wasn't for all these little problems/glitches. You literally have a boss fight, do pointless side missions in between, and move onto the next boss fight. Talk about adding insult to injury, when you combine the idiotic side missions with the game's terrible controls, it's really hard not to start questioning the game makers decision to do this. And the whole sandbox aspect of the game? They completely blotched that idea. The whole idea of that is so you have the freedom to explore everything in the city. Problem is, the city in this game has less than 10 places you can go to. Uhh...why not just teleport me there instead of making me explore this empty city? I can go on and on about these problems but I'm sure you get the idea that this game's problems outweigh the fun you will have. If you want cool boss fights and dynamic characters, you should just play Kingdom Hearts 2 instead.
