What battery do I need for my gopro hero 3 silver?

Can i use the usb cable to charge the wasabi battery in the hero2 unit instead of putting the batt on the charger?

I have a Hero and a Hero2 and charge the batteries in both devices. Also I charge the original batteries in the wasabi charger. That way I can charge two batteries at the same time

What is the output of the charger and the expected charge time?

The output of the charger is DC 4.2v 500mA. I will say so far the battery has lasted much longer than the actual go pro batteries that I have. The other nice feature with this charger is that you can plug it in like normal and it does not take as long as putting the battery in the camera and charging from your computer. So far I am very happy with the purchase.
