Nespresso CitiZ Original Espresso Machine by De'Longhi, Black

Compact, Stylish, and Makes Café-Quality Espresso at Home The Nespresso CitiZ by De’Longhi has been a pleasant surprise in my kitchen. It doesn’t take up much counter space, and the sleek design actually looks good next to my other appliances. What I appreciate most is the consistency—every cup comes out hot, rich, and with that signature layer of crema. The machine heats up quickly, so I can go from powering it on to sipping an espresso in under a minute, which is especially nice on busy mornings. The controls are simple: two buttons, one for espresso and one for lungo, which makes it almost impossible to mess up. I also like that the spent capsule container can hold quite a few pods before needing to be emptied, so I’m not constantly dealing with it. Cleanup overall is very easy, just a quick rinse of the drip tray and a wipe down. A couple of things to keep in mind: it’s designed for Nespresso OriginalLine capsules, so you’re somewhat tied to their system, though there are plenty of flavor options and even third-party compatible pods. It also makes espresso shots only—if you want milk drinks like cappuccinos or lattes, you’ll need a separate frother. Bottom line: This is a well-built, reliable machine that consistently produces excellent espresso with minimal fuss. If you want café-style coffee at home without the learning curve of a full espresso setup, the CitiZ is a fantastic choice.

This is our third Nespresso machine in about 14 years! Makes a delicious espresso! Easy to use, and my guests always love a shot of Nespresso with dessert. Set up is fast, takes up just a little real estate on our counter. Great machine if you love espresso.

I bought the CITIZ DēLonghi Nespresso machine. I did a lot of research before i made my decision to buy either a DēLonghi or a Breville. All of the positive reviews tended to be for the DēLonghi and DēLonghi has been making the machine longer, so… I chose the CITIZ machine because it uses the OriginalLine pods and are a little less expensive than the VertuøLine. (all are recyclable). A prepaid postage plastic bag can be ordered free of charge from Nespresso to return the aluminum pods to a recycling plant. There is a video on the Nespresso website explaining the recycling process. I wouldn’t buy the Keurig coffee maker because their pods are plastic and are not recyclable. So glad I because the creamy foam the CITIZ makes is delicious. The CITIZ makes a wonderful espresso with a rich foamy creme that lasts for the entire latte. I could have bought the milk steamer along with the CITIZ but chose not to and now I regret not purchasing it as I make lattes and the steamed almond milk would really be nice to have. Oh well. There is a small container in the CITIZ that collects the pods which makes it easy to dump the pods into the plastic recycle bag. The container which collects the pods fortunately has about 1/2 “ at the bottom to collect coffee that drips out of the machine. I wouldn’t let more than 6 pods collect as the container might overflow. There have been reviews that this machine is rather noisy but it’s not any noisier than my former Senseo espresso machine. Not that noisy in my opinion. The water heats up in apprx 20-25 secs. I would have a cup underneath the spout when pressing the button to turn on the machine, as one time in the middle of heating the water, it started making the espresso! Don’t know what happened but hasn’t happened since, but i always have a cup under the spout before turning it on. I did buy some 3rd party pods that are advertised as Nespresso compatible, but the pods i bought are plastic, a little smaller and the coffee was inferior compared to Nespresso’s coffee. I think its worth the few extra pennies for the Nespresso pods. I like a milder espresso and have found that for me, the Pure Origin Rosabaya de Columbia is the best tasting for me and the Caramelito, A caramel flavored coffee that is very good. There are also decaffeinated espresso pods. I love this machine and I would and have recommended it wholeheartedly.

When our Nespresso Latissima finally died after several years of serving us well, we bought a superautomatic espresso machine. I didn’t know it is not recommended to use dark beans in such a machine, and that is my coffee of choice. I tried several medium roasts across a wide price range but nothing came close to the heavenly flavor of my Nespresso pods. As my husband was very pleased with his fancy new machine, I decided to get this CitiZ machine and am so glad I did. Now I can make my own espresso or delicious lungo coffee so easily. Presently, we still froth my milk in the big machine, but I plan to get a separate frother eventually so we can both be making our coffees at the same time. I thoroughly recommend this machine, it does a great job, looks good, and doesn’t take up much space on the kitchen counter. All for a not too bad price.

I just wanted to say this is my second Nespresso machine. The first one quit working this week after 24 years of faithful service. I've just tried my new machine out and I am completely happy with it. Both machines were original line so I can still use my capsules on hand and the espresso was fine. I was a little surprised there were no step by step instructions , I had just bought a new Keurig for my husband and his came with step by step instructions but even though there are some new things after 24 years I wasn't surprised. If the water tank comes off I can't figure out how and I didn't want to force it plus my old one you pressed the right side to turn it on and when it quit blinking press the left side to start the coffee stream. The new one seemed to be the same until I pressed right to turn it off and more coffee came out so now I have figured out one side gives you lingo and one side gives you espresso by the time I figured that out it shut off automatically. Update I figured out the water container after watching the video. Now I'm even happier.

Horrible machine. The coffee is watery and lukewarm. And it is getting worse by day. All the “great reviews” are untrue so far as my machine is concerned. This is a good example of how should try not to be fooled by 5 star reviews and by the high price tag.

I love this machine so much but wish it was better at punching through capsules that are not nespresso brand. Maybe other capsules suck but seems like a fishy coincidence that it has trouble with other well known brands.

A very simple machine. Same principle as the old one that was given to me about 10 years ago. That old one is still at my office after all this time and works great. This new one is at home. I had an expensive machine here at home but it gave out. Too many moving parts. Replaced that with this CitiZ and my morning coffee ritual makes me happy. Oh, my daughter bought one for her home after using my CitiZ.

The product was Horrible and gone unserviceable three times. First it was leaking then have to send it to Delhi from Bangalore for Repair. second time again gone unserviceable, again send to Delhi Paid INR 8250/- as repair charges + Courier of 2K. Now again unserviceable as it started leaking. Have no option to go for new brand. advise all users not to procure this product. Spent 35K INR in just one and half year. Wow each cofee around 3500 INR.
