Cats, Fleas, and Catego
In a perfect world, fleas would not exist. But in our world, they do. In a next-to-perfect world, my cats would line up and not struggle while I applied their flea treatment, but this world isnโt next-to-perfect either. Fleas love my cats. Fleas also love me. Any of these vermin that happen t be close to me will jump on me and chomp until I have more flea bites than my cats. No intelligent person wants fleas on their cats or in their home. For many years, I used Frontline, but now these spawn of Satan laugh at those drops. It doesnโt cut down on their biting or reproduction at all. Iโve also tried Advantage; it worked, but a few of my cats had a reaction to it that made me uncomfortable. I want to kill the fleas, not my cats. My flea killer of choice to use on my cats during flea season is now Catego. Catego did the trick. My cats are once again flea free, and none of them had a bad reaction to it. According to the directions on the box, I am not applying it exactly the right way, so fleas must loathe this stuff. Each dose is enclosed in plastic packaging that you must cut the corners off of with scissors. Then you must peel the plastic back to get the dose out. Sounds easy, right? Well, sometimes it does peel right back. Other times, it gets stuck in one spot and you must apply force to get the plastic apart. That is so much fun to do first thing in the morning. Next time I need to treat each of them with Catego, Iโm going to get their doses ready the evening before. Oh, did I mention that I have eight cats? The childproof, pet-proof, adult-proof packaging probably discourages shoplifting of individual doses of the flea medication by individuals who donโt want to pay to keep fleas off their cats, but that doesnโt make it any easier for me to open. Once the doses are released from their plastic prisons, it is time to dose my cats. How many of you have cats? Do your cats stand still and allow you do exactly as the directions say while you apply their flea treatment? Mine do not. Okay, two out of my eight cats behave like angels and are perfectly still for me. The rest struggle to keep me from putting it on them. You apply Catego at the base of the head, but first, you are supposed to part the hair until the skin is visible at the spot where you are going to apply it. The people who make Catego have never met my cats. My catsโTigger, Casper, Sasha, Bagheera, Thor, Loki, Katie, and Deniseโare friendly and love to be petted and paid attention to. But when they knowโand somehow they doโthat it is time for their flea treatment, they watch every move you make. When you reach for them or walk toward them, even if your hands are empty, they dash away and hide. If they only realized how much more comfortable Catego makes them. That one day a month, it is time to take them by surprise. I donโt know. Maybe it is a game to them. But when a cat is hissing at me and doing its damnedest to get away, it doesnโt feel much like a game. So, am I able to part their hair and reveal the skin before applying? Only two out of my eight cats will stand still and allow me to do that. Do I manage to put Catego on all of them? Yes, but they do not like it. The tip of the applicator is rounded with no sharp edges, so I donโt understand why they run. Now, if I manage to hide the dose behind my back and apply it while Iโm petting them, they donโt even notice. Iโve managed to do that a few times. Sometimes though, the unexpected happens. You know that sound that a container makes as you squeeze the last of its contents out? Use your imagination for what happens then. If you are having trouble finding a flea treatment that actually does what it says it will do, might I suggest giving Catego a try?

Flea & Tick protection with no skin reactions.
I have used other topicals and collars but one of my cats would always react to anything for fleas AND ticks. This is the only brand I use now because it prevent both parasits and my Twinkles doesn't react to it. My cats go outside sometimes in bushes and dirt and grass and I haven't had a problem with fleas or ticks since using.

I Love This Product!โฆ
Flea meds are so expensive these days! I canโt afford to keep flea meds on my cats in the winter months. I make sure I put Catego on them at the first sign of fleas in the spring. Itโs never been a problem. This product has always worked well for me even though fleas can get out of control QUICKLY here for some reason. One dose on all of my cats knocks them out immediately. I have one cat who has severe flea allergy and this always works on her. Just make sure to treat all animals at once and wash any bedding they use.

This stuff worked... at first but within two weeks fleas were back
I thought I found a diamond in the rough when I first used this stuff because I kid you not i've literally tried every flea medicine out there but nothing worked for my two fur babies until I found Catego. Within a few hours of application I was finding half dead fleas on my cats and everywhere else. My little girl has flea allergies, poor thing gets these really bad scabs and itches non stop and every flea med other then this one not only didn't work but would make her skin so much worse (by the way if you're cat has flea allergies try using coconut oil it helped my babygirl with itching and healed scabs up within a few days but if the fleas aren't gone the problem will keep coming back) So this stuff does work really well and doesn't make flea allergies worse BUT that "One month of protection" bs is all kinds of lies. Barely a week and a half passed after application and I was finding fleas on them again, not half dead ones like before but alive and well ones. Today I used the flea comb on them and easily pulled 30 or more off of them and keep in mind that it's barely been three weeks into that supposed "month of protection" So let me repeat myself, this stuff does work really really well and doesn't make flea allergies worse but it doesn't last for very long. I got maybe one week of solid protection on my cats where fleas were dropping dead before they showed their half demon half bug selves again. Luckily for Amazon and Catego i'll still be buying this med from them just because it works so well even if it's not for a month.

This is a great product but will not fix everything with ear mite problems.
We have noticed no skin irritation for our cat. She scratches much less. We don't see any cat health issues involved in this. The value for the money is quite good. It can hold off a vet visit or two and if we control works just fine. Just watch how you apply it and make sure it doesn't get on your skin. Otherwise it's quite safe to use. Please discard the empty packets in a responsible manner. The flea and tick control works just fine, but we noticed that it doesn't have a lot of effect on the her ear mites so we have to get that treated at a vet because she does not take kindly to us trying to give her ear drop treatments. It drives her crazy and she stops trusting us for a little bit because we have to wrap her in a towel. Apparently her past owners were not so kind to her. They abandoned her and we took ownership of her because we could not see her going without an owner. We certainly love her and hope that eventually will have all the money necessary to take the best care of her.

MY CAT IS SUFFERED FROM THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT. DONT USE IT.
I do not know how anyone can say this product is worth buying. My cat use to have a happy disposition but due to the constant scratching, she now has broken out all along her back to her tail, the top of her head and all over her neck. and She feels hot and unfortunately I am on a fixed income and cannot afford to take her the vet. She does not hang out with her brother and myself because she is miserable. This product hurt my Birdie. She was not this bad and this is bad. I cannot take pictures of her because she is suffering and I cannot show you how warm she feels from the scabs.

Kitten approved
Husband brought home a kitten and no matter what we did we could not get rid of his fleas. Literally gone overnight with this stuff. I recommend this to anyone.

Honestly not sure yet
I've used this 2 months in a row now and I'm honestly not entirely sure about how it's working. It's winter in NY. My cat is indoor. Somehow we've got constant fleas anyway. Frontline doesn't do anything anymore. Not much does. I've been doing a lot of Raid and natural sprays etc... just keeping it under control as much as possible and waiting for the winter to get things under control. Someone told me about Catego and I decided to give it a shot. First month I noticed as some other reviewers said, the fleas head downward at first, drive the cat crazy for a bit then...maybe are just in the carpet until they die or...hibernate? I keep seeing a flea now and then. Nothing crazy but...like I said, my cat doesn't go outside. I live in an apartment building. My door goes out into a hallway that goes to another door that leads to another door that leads to another hallway to another door and THEN goes outside. All of that is concrete and new wood flooring that is regularly maintained. The entire building is regularly visited by exterminators just to make sure we never get any problems. And yet... fleas. I should also mention that aside from a fruit fly or two, and the occasional (like once a year) spider, there is never a bug in my apartment. I clean and vacuum regularly. I have ONE animal. I'm mentioning this because I've owned several animals in the past in a house years ago and know why I had issues back then and this is not the same situation at all lol. ANYWAY... so I treated him again about a week ago. My kid said she found a flea in her room yesterday but "it might have been dying". So yeah I'm gonna have to get back to y'all on this one. While yes, it has so far done more than Frontline, I'm skeptical because it's also winter in NY and we are still seeing occasional fleas... and where there's one there can potentially be a million more eventually. I have high hopes. I will keep using it and give updates when spring hits.
