SCART to HDMI Converter With Cable, Input HDMI Output Video Audio Adapter for Sky/DVD/STB Display on HDTVs

East to set up and works great. I have an old Sony DVD player with only a SCART socket and my new 32" Samsung Smart TV has HDMI sockets. Connected easily using the 5v USB power cable (included) plugging into the 5v USB socket in the back of the TV. Great picture, although a little darker than I remember, so increased the brightness slightly and now great. Now I can carry on enjoying my large DVD movie collection. Recommend and keenly priced too.

Purchased this for a Friend who had just got a new TV with no Scart connection, required for her DVD player. We had just purchased one for ourselves as we had the same problem. Does the job at a very good price. This is now my review for the unit that I purchased. We were offered a unit from a national store who we got our TV from at over £50, so we want looking on Amazon and found this unit at a very very good price. Very well boxed, each item wrapped, good instructions, really good cable lengths, small and unobtrusive, all perfectly installed in 10 minutes. It requires a mains supply so don't forget to purchase a separate mains to USB adapter plug which is also on Amazon. Our DVD player works perfectly.

Ok for connecting and old dvd/VCR to a modern TV, ok picture, in both 720 and 1080, not too good when used with an old pacman console through the VCR then through this then onto TV, playable but better just using an emulator. Fine for watching old videos and recordings though, easy to setup, just powered via TVs usb socket and plugged it into the hdmi.

Older Scart devices, have a few around VHS machine/game consoles. This is super handy for such devices. Just plug the SCART into the back, use the micro USB for power (any USB port will do). Then HDMI out from the box to the TV set or Monitor. Simple as that really it just converts the Scart to HDMI. Switch on the box for 1080p/720p resolution. Quality is fine I nothing wrong here decent plastics. Cables also feel durable enough. Just for information the main cable (Scart to Box) is about 60cm in length. The HDMI cable about 1 metre, though of course you can use longer HDMI ones if you have them. Decent price works well happy days...

The images speak for themselves. This converter worked straight out of the box. It came with a USB to micro USB power feed which I simply plugged into a spare USB socket at the back of my Virgin box. I am using it to connect my old LiteOn® DVD player/recorder (SCART output) to my new smart LG TV (HDMI input). On the right is a screen shot of the Virgin box direct HDMI signal to the TV. On the left is a screenshot of the same image fed through the DVD unit and converter. You can notice a slightly dimmer image, slightly less detail and a faint overall green cast. IN summary, this converter works, and gives a picture like an older but good TV.

I bought this cable converter to connect an old VCR player to a smart TV to play some old video tapes. First impressions were that it was all very plasticky and cheap, particularly the SCART connection and the control box. The HDMI cable feels better quality though and this cable has gold connections, whereas the others don’t. This is surprising as the picture quality will only be as good as the weakest link, so why aren’t all the connections gold plated? What wasn’t very clear until I came to connect it to my devices, was the fact that the control box requires a power supply via a USB cable. This just adds more wires into the equation which makes the whole set-up a bit untidy. Thankfully, there was a USB connection on my TV, otherwise it would have been impractical for me to get power to the unit. Looking past the criticism of the power supply, the lack of gold plating and the cheap feeling plastic, the unit does work and has allowed a bridge between old and new technologies, so in that respect it’s a success and is worth the money.

Notice this product does scart to HDMI but not HDMI to scart. Only works one way. It's a good little unit also it requires a power supply. Thinking about plan "B".

The device is compact and performing well. The only minus I would give it is that it requires power connection through the USB cable (supplied) , so you need USB plug and available socket near the DVD player. Not a big issue, but surely it could of been feed power directly from the DVD player.

Parfait pour visionner d'anciennes cassettes vidéo à partir d'un magnétoscope équipé d'une peritel sur une tv oled pourvu de prises hdmi . Qualité d'image correcte, mais attention, le support magnétique de ces cassettes VHS souffre du temps qui passe...tout passe, tout casse, tout lasse....
