Easy to follow and delicious!
This book makes me want to stay home and become an Italian grandmother. It also does not require centuries of pass down knowledge in order to make delicious pasta. I’ve already been successful with one of those and I look forward to trying another one in my pasta extruder soon. Definitely a good entry-level pasta, making book.

Great purchase
After buying various tools to make pasta at home, I then purchased this book, initially because it had instructions on the various pasta shapes. I am trying to expand my pasta-making skills beyond what my Kitchen Aid roller or Atlas can provide. This book provides 20 different shapes, 10 different doughs, and over 100 recipes-- definitely a lot more material than what I initially was focusing on. The instructions are very clear and include helpful pictures. Who doesn't want beautiful pictures of the completed product?Matter of fact if a recipe book doesn't have pictures, I will probably pass on adding it to my collection. The recipes are pretty comprehensive and I can't wait to try them all.

Errors in text
The book is lovely. However, I found errors in the book. On page 20 the recipe for egg pasta dough says see suggestions for flavoring your pasta dough on page 282. There are only 262 pages in the whole book! I was able to find the flavorings for pasta, Joe, but it was on page 4. I plan to try making the egg pasta dough from this book tomorrow and I’ll try to add to my review as to how the pasta turns out. I’ve used another recipe, not from America’s test kitchen, and I’ve always been successful with that one so I guess we will just have to wait and see if ATK’s recipe is any good.😁

Superior Reference
A must-have for all pasta makers, even aspiring ones. The vast number of photos are so helpful in demonstrating the process and shaping, and it is a fantastic reference for your cookbook Library whether you make pasta by hand or with the aid of a machine.

Classic ATK - you get the fish and learn how to fish
The best thing about ATK is the way they give you techniques and recipes along with the rationale for them. That way, you can follow the instructions and get great results, but now that you know why and how you got those results, you can take it on to make it better, different, and operate without instructions.

Great step by step instructions
I love the America’s Top Kitchen range as they provide great step by step instructions and break all the recipes down to the basic components including also what utensils and gadget you might need to use. I can’t wait to try some of the pasta dough recipes and attempt some new pasta shapes that I haven’t made before. A great book.
