I originally found this brand through America's Test Kitchen recommendations for wooden utensils, and this oversized version absolutely delivers if you regularly cook large batches. This thing is a beast. Calling it a “large spoon” almost undersells it — it feels more like a purpose-built tool for serious stock pots and big batch cooking. I’ve used it for chili, stews, soups, and other large-volume cooking projects, and it really shines once you get into the 12–20 qt range. I’ve also used it in 8 qt pots, but at that point it starts feeling almost comically oversized. The design is very well thought out. It sits nicely between a spoon and spatula without trying too hard to be both. It scrapes the bottom and sides of pots well enough for a wooden utensil, though naturally it won’t hug corners quite like silicone. For large batch cooking though, that’s a tradeoff I’m happy to make because the rigidity and strength are excellent. The head is completely inflexible, which makes it great for stirring thick chili or heavier stews. The teak construction also seems like a smart material choice for something that spends a lot of time around moisture and heat. Mine arrived very well finished with no rough spots, splinters, cracks, or finish issues. It also hasn’t absorbed stains or odors, even after heavily seasoned soups and tomato-based dishes. One thing buyers should know is that the handle is substantial. I’m a larger guy and find it comfortable enough, especially when working with deep pots, but people with smaller hands may find it bulky or tiring during long stirring sessions. I could especially see that being an issue for dishes that require near-constant stirring like risotto. My wife will probably never reach for this thing. It’s definitely more specialized than a standard everyday wooden spoon. For normal day-to-day cooking, I still use the brand’s regular spoon/spatula tools more often. This is basically a supersized version designed for volume cooking. I wouldn’t call it essential for the average home cook, but it’s a fantastic “nice to have” piece if you occasionally make double batches, cook for gatherings, meal prep, or just want a proper tool for oversized cookware. Not the cheapest wooden spoon out there, but it feels thoughtfully designed, well manufactured, and built to last.

A very sturdy and great cooking utensil. Works very well when you are cooking large batches of any foods, sauces and chili! My only suggestion would be that they should coat it in a material than can withstand use and especially being cleaned in the dishwasher. The wood is beautiful, it would stay beautiful if it was sealed in a proper coating of some kind. I personally rub it with olive oil after each wash to retain the beauty of the wood.

Bought this to stir jam in my tallest pot and it works perfectly, easy to hold, does a great job when stirring boiling jam. I’d recommend it.

Great spoon ! I am using it for my big batch salsa for canning , big pots of spaghetti and chilli. It teaches the bottom of my biggest tallest pots and does a great job of scrapping the bottom.
