Legacy Standard Bible, Single Column Text Only - Black Hardcover (LSB) Hardcover – May 13, 2022

Good quality paper and cover.

I am reading through this bible and so far I have been impressed. This might be my new go to bible.

I do like this translation. It follows in the path of the NASB, which I prefer for Bible study. A couple things I particularly like about the translation.- It uses Yahweh in the OT rather than the word LORD. I feel this is more theologically correct as that is what the text actually says. In particular sometimes it helps us to remember that back then each nation had their own gods - each with its own name. Israel's God was Yahweh.- I like that it translated slave as slave and not servant. Again, a more precise approach to translation.The binding and book itself seem to be good quality. It has a good feel too it - sturdy like it will last.

This is a Steadfast Legacy Standard Bible. It's copyright is 2021 by the Lockman Foundation.It is a single column all the way through. The poetry books are single column as well. The top of each page gives the book and chapter and page number, the left margin shows only the verse markers. There are bold drop numbers to show new chapters and a title of the chapter if so named.The pages are white and soft, they are opaque enough that you don't see the back side of the sheet. I have not written or highlighted anything in my Bible as this one is for strictly reading, even though there is an inch margin on the outside margins, and the two inner margins has room for small writing. I almost reduced a star because it was missing a ribbon marker.There are also missing concordance and references. This is strictly a reading Bible that would have been easier if it had been leather soft instead of hardback. I have returned and ordered a MacArthur Legacy Standard Study Bible. I am pleased with both editions.

before i got this, i ordered the cloth over board version of this one..was disappointed given the cloth over board version is a few dollars higher than this one (which i will review separately). but for the price tou get a decent hardcover and a smuth sewn single column LSB..this doesn’t have the red chapter numbers..this is all plain black text..the paper quality is like that of the handy size LSB..no ribbon marker, but that’s ok.if you want an affordable single column LSB, GO FOR THIS ONE

I absolutely love this Bible! I have a cowhide version, but I really wanted this one just to have it. For the price, I don’t think you will find a better hardcover Bible (especially with regard to the comfort of reading from a single-column, verse-by-verse organized bible. I really love this verse-by-verse layout. I genuinely find it very comfortable to read from. I’m a younger guy, so my vision is pretty decent. This font is very normal-sized. If you have bad vision, this might not be for you. I’d say grab a large print bible; and if you want a translation like this, go with the NASB 1995, this LSB translation is an upgrade from that one. It’s pretty much the same.
