Yes the rings will work on the Series S & X.

How do you attach these things? Is there a guide that comes with them?

Just stretch them over the the joysticks.. you may want to start off with green ring to see how well you adjust with aiming. If still too loose in your movement, go to purple and then black. It depends on your comfort level in game play.

Anyone buy these to help with accidently pressing r3? i keep losing gun fights because i keep accidently pressing r3 and meleeing. very frusturating.

Edward V. already nailed this; I believe it’s worth seconding his advice to remap input. Some games (e.g., D2) have both a subclass-specific ranged melee ability mapped to the standard melee input by default. In fast, unpredictable situations this easily leads to the basic melee ability being triggered because targets have rapidly closed the gap. Remapping the special melee to a different input is not only helpful but many consider it necessary. It definitely takes some time to adapt though acclimating to custom mapping usually progresses within minutes from awkward to second nature.
