Works better than expected
Arrived on time and as expected. Product went on readily and clean up was great. This was used in a metal barn to hopefully provide some cooler temps in summer. The foam adhered to the metal and wood without any additional prep work (other than knock down webs). There does seem to be a temp difference when you walk in so seems to be helping.

Great product although you might need to get your own suit and glasses.
This worked well. I bought twice as much as I thought I'd need and I'm glad I did. The included spray suit was way too small (I'm 5'7 and 180 lb) and so were the safety glasses so I bought my own suit with a hoodie and bigger glasses to cover my prescription glasses.

Disappointing quality and no support outside return window
I purchased a 12-can kit of Akfix Thermcoat on March 30, 2025. Due to project delays, I did not start using the product until January 10, 2026 (about 9 months later). Unfortunately, out of the 12 cans, only 3 were usable. The remaining cans were completely solid inside and unusable. The product did not list an expiration date—only a manufacturing date—so there was no indication that storage time would be an issue. I did not inspect the cans when they arrived, which in hindsight was a mistake. When I contacted the company to request a replacement or refund, I was told that because I was outside their 90-day return/refund window, nothing could be done. This was very disappointing given the high failure rate of the product and the lack of clear expiration information. I would strongly recommend inspecting and testing all cans immediately upon delivery, as you may have no recourse later if defects are discovered.

Cheap and easy - decent results
I bought a 10x16 shed cheap I plan on turning into a man cave bar. I bought this to insulate the ceiling and I should start this with I really had no clue what I was doing just read the instructions and started. It doesn’t expand as much as I thought and the reason for 4 stars is that you need to keep the can verticals so spraying needs to be very close to 90 degrees which makes the ceiling very difficult. Also, it isn’t consistent when trying to do angles needed for a ceiling. Definitely a learning curve and doesn’t always stick well…. Extremely messy (spend the money and buy a painters gown/suit… once it dries it doesn’t come off anything including yourself or clothes. For the walls it did amazing, keeping the cans verticals it was consistent and easy to layer. The next day it was hot and as you can see from the pictures there is a very noticeable difference in the area I sprayed vs what I did not. It took me about an hour to do it. - I plan on buying another 12 cans to finish my walls and hit any spots I missed - I was going to use the fiberglass roles but this seems to work better, faster, easier and much cheaper! Again keep in mind I had no clue what Iw as doing and just thought how bad could it be!

Works like described
I got prices from professional insulation companies In the 6 grand range to insulate my 800 sq.’ Metal building . Total sq’’ for walls and ceiling came to 1684. For 2” thickness I would need 168 cans . I ended up purchasing 186 cans . I did not have any problems with any cans at all ! I really didn’t achieve a consistent 2” thickness due to overspray and inexperience on my part . I would suggest adding 20% more material than you need on bigger projects like mine to achieve proper thickness. I give the product 5 stars because it certainly performs as described. I spent $2,100 in material and it took me about 4 days of labor. If you want to save $ and do it yourself I recommend it for sure . I didn’t get what the professionals would have given me but I saved 4 grand 👍🏻

Great Product
It went a long way! If you follow the instructions, this is a great product and very easy to use. Change the tips out per can used and every 2 or 3, run a little cleaner through it and it flows well.

Highly recommended, fun and effective!
Used this for a 13'x17' shop, ceiling at 14'. 48 cans was just enough to get about an inch and a half on the walls, about a half inch on the ceiling. I probably could have done everything at an inch if I was more careful. It is strong and sticks really well, and a second layer after the first cured was no problem. This stuff is easy to use and a lot of fun. I did the shop in a couple hours, took breaks, checked for gaps that I missed. Some things I did to get the best result I could: -Stored the cans inside for two days before using them to ensure they were warmed up to at least 65deg. -Shook the heck out of them for 20-30sec. -Cleaned the shop really well, as dust free as I could (by no means perfect- there was a lot still on the walls). -Sprayed out the gun with cleaner every six cans, and wiped off the tip with a rag (sprayed with the cleaner). -Kept the spray gun adjusted to very little flow- this seemed to give me a lot more coverage and even spray. -Wear the protective suit, gloves, and goggles at least. I had a good fan that vented the gasses out so it wasn't that bad. -Have fun! I very much enjoyed this job and saved a TON of money doing it myself. It worked better than I expected (I read the same terrible reviews you probably did) and I think it's because I followed the directions and took my time and had fun with it. It isn't perfect, but I am very confident that it will work for my needs (hold some heat in the winter and some cool in the summer). I highly recommend this stuff for jobs this big and smaller. I already ordered more to do my wife's shed and fill some spots I missed in the shop.

Ones that worked, worked well
My second order worked fine. My first order was a larger order and have a few that didnt work well. Some foam expanded well. Others were minimum.

Worked perfectly
I purchased 6 cans of this product after getting a kit from a different company. This was far superior. Sprayed well right to the bottom of the can where the other product only sprayed well for about 2/3 of the can.

Akfix Thermcoat spray foam a bust
1 out of the three that I purchased worked. The one that worked did what I wanted but I had to go in a different direction to get the job done. Very disappointed.
