Great Machine
First non pod machine I have brought. Very easy to use and clean and makes a great cup of coffee. People told me it’s about the coffee grinder and you can spend hundreds on one. This machines built in grinder is brilliant. Top tip is not to fill the bean hopper but just add 18gms of beans each time. That way you are not trying to weigh powdered coffee after grind.

Amazing Espresso Machine!
Amazing coffee machine! You must take the time to read through the instructions to ensure a smooth setup and great coffee brewing experience. At first, I set my grind too fine, which stopped the coffee from dispensing through the portafilter. Luckily, this was an easy fix—adjusting the grinder to 22 instead of 6 made all the difference. The machine comes with everything you need as a novice barista: a milk frothing jug, single and double portafilter baskets, and cleaning tools. The clear, step-by-step instructions are especially helpful, guiding you through how to “dial in” your machine for the perfect shot and even how to steam milk like a pro. Overall, I’m super impressed with both the quality of the machine and the results it produces. The only downside was that Amazon delivery arrived a day late—but the wait was definitely worth it!

Worth A Buy
Great First Machine, but will definitely invest a bit more money on a better one in a few years if this one doesnt pack in before. You ideally do need to buy some additional stuff, so get this product only while its on offer. Additional products: a proper tamper, a bottomless portafilter (though I havent cared to buy one yet but I get why you would buy one), WDT Tool, even perhaps a better grinder if you need/want to go finer than what the machine allows. Its nice looking product and doesnt take up that much space on the worktop. Cleaning is simple. Can be noisy though no louder than a pod machine. Couldve been the fact it was my first time using this steamer wand (though have used a few in the past working in Resturant) its ruthless, the steam went onto the mode nob and I couldn't turn it off because it was slippy 😂 I've made some decent coffees with it but its definitely a practise makes great. This machine will not do a perfect coffee/espresso in my opinion. Imagine a scales of store brand instant coffee vs a top tier coffee maker i would say it gives me a pod machine filter through a brita filter. Smooth but still just not right (again, probably the fact ive only had it three weeks so still trying to work out the right grind and tamper pressure even with my 7-15kg pressure tamper) Far from regret this purchase, in fact its made me realise I actually want more from a machine so its been a good lesson learned.

Good machine
My first real coffee machine, takes a bit of learning as all of these machines do but the coffee has been great and has good features and well made.

Embarrassment to the Breville Line.
The Barista Max is trash compared to the Barista Express. 1) It has no auto grind setting so you have to hold the handle down at an angle while it grinds and it spits coffee grinds all over the place making a mess every single time you try to use it. 2) thepressure doesn’t get high enough when it’s making espresso, so I continually have soggy pucks every single time, no matter how lightly or hard I tamp, no matter how course or find the grains are, it never gets it right. 3) what designer puts the “just continually run water through the coffee until I turn it off” button right next to the single shot button? I mean sure it’s not hard to distinguish but we’re talking about a coffee machine that people use first thing after they wake up before they’ve had their morning coffee, so hitting the wrong button is mistake that gets made a lot and ends up wasting a lot of coffee. 4) This thing is just a lot of plastic and very cheaply built. It is about three times the price it deserves to be for its functionality. Overall, I recommend getting the express version if that’s in your budget range, although that one is overpriced as well. Otherwise, there are much better alternatives for this price.

Bellissimo
This machine for the Prime Sale I bought it from is the bee's knees. I've gone through two famous Italian machines that I wouldn't ever buy again. Not now that I have my Breville. The nice thing about this machine is it gives you some more control over making a coffee. You grind the coffee, set the preferred grind and tap it down. Then transfer to the water pourer press a button and hey you get a goodly cup of espresso with a creme that is top notch. I haven't tried the milk frother as I'm an espresso drinker. Watching videos on the machine would suggest it does a reasonable job. Would I recommend it the machine, yes I would. If you like me prefer to have some control over the process then this machine is great for that, Coffee quality depends on quite a few elements and this machine plays a big part in the quality of the finished coffee. . Bellissimo !!!!

Very easy to use, makes awesome coffee, perfect for that wake me up one before work, much cheaper than the retail coffees we buy on the high street. Holds 2.8l water capacity, Perfect Coffee Temperature and so cost effective. I bought this on Cyber Monday Deal with 42% off so I'm very happy.

Good Machine
I think this is a great machine. Takes a bit of getting used to of you've never used this style of machine before, but once you get used to it it's possible to make very decent coffee with it. We originally had an issue with the grind being too fine, then the water struggled to go through them, that seemed to be a problem with old beans we had. It's been grand since we finished those beans. I think it works great, but I'm no professional. I was surprised at how well the steamer seems to work.
