This is by far the best hair dye I have used for covering my grays. The L'Oreal Men Expert One Twist in Real Black 02 lives up to its "mess-free" promise perfectly. The application process is incredibly straightforward: you literally just twist the bottle, shake it, and comb it directly into your hair. There are no messy mixing bowls and no strong chemical smells, thanks to the excellent ammonia-free formula. It took exactly five minutes to process, and the result was a natural-looking black that blended seamlessly, rather than an artificial, flat shoe-polish color. It rinsed out easily without staining my forehead, neck, or bathroom sink. Pros: Extremely quick, foolproof application, no harsh ammonia odor, and very natural-looking results. The built-in comb applicator is a complete game changer for getting an even coat. Cons: The volume of dye is perfectly sized for short to medium hair. If you have longer hair, you will likely need to purchase two kits. Overall, my experience was fantastic. It restored my natural color without looking obviously dyed. I highly recommend it to any guy looking for a fast, subtle, and clean way to handle grays.

The only dye my boyfriend will use. He hates seeing the stray grey hairs so will use this about every 6 weeks. Doesn’t need help can just brush it on the wash off. Matches hair color exactly.

I’m 64 with Brown, mostly grey, thinning hair. I’ve used a number of dyes and partial grey removers. The issues have been the chemicals are terrible for you. This brand, while not perfect is far better than most. I’ve experimented with shades and timing and I’ve discovered go a shade lighter, and rinse as soon as you’ve finished applying the product. My first use I waited the recommended 5 mins post working in, my hair was jet black instead of medium brown. Long story short, I use lite brown and rinse the moment after application to achieve a lighter med brown with almost a touch of lighter grayish highlights. It looks like I never dyed it. Hopefully this is helpful.

Extremely messy so hard to squeeze. Got it all over my face . Can't apply on sideburns and hairline . Doesn't fully cover gray . Not enough in bottle to cover my large head . Hard to use on short hair . Bad in every aspect . I wish natural instincts for men comes back

This product was easy to use. Twist, shake, snap, and squeeze. The first three are easy. However, the squeeze part is not so much. The product container, while squeezable on the side, becomes cumbersome to squeeze as you get into the application. The bottom part of the bottle is rigid enough that it prevents squeezing out the rest of the content out. I would have preferred it if they made the bottle a little skinny but longer and perhaps tapered at the end, just like the end of a toothpaste tube. That would make application a lot easier. One tip for guys with buzzed cuts, please apply the product comb along with the natural direction of your hair. If you're going against it, you'll notice a lot of splattering around you. Also, if you have vinyl or latex gloves that fit you, use those instead of the cellophane gloves that come with the product. They are oversize most of the time and will make your application messy. Last tip is to apply a coat of Vaseline along your hairline so that the dye won't permeate your skin. As for how effective the dye is, it's pretty good. I'd say that my hair color developed so quickly.
