I purchased this platter and bowl set for my daughter in law, who is both a mermaid and a fairy (AKA a children's entertainer). I thought she'd like this set not necessarily to use for meals, but rather jewelry or trinkets worthy of display on her dressing table. However, it's microwave safe; and I think it would make a lovely platter for sushi, with soy and wasabi in the dish. It's even nicer in person than in the photograph. (I didn't rate the feature section because I haven't used it.)

Purchased the product for a Mother’s Day gift. My mom loves mermaids and fish. She uses this item for get togethers and daily meals. Works for all occasions. Very versatile.
