Great nozzle but needs a rubber washer
I feel this Melnor 7 position nozzle is pricey but it does have a good warranty. It's heavy and looks durable. The spray selections are excellent. I use "shower", jet/full mostly but like the "soak" pattern so I can just lay the nozzle down under a shrub that needs water and it deeply waters without washing away the soil. There is a clip which is pulled backward to keep the selected pattern going so you don't have to squeeze the nozzle the whole time you're watering. I have purchased two of these nozzles and found both dripped water from the hose connection. It came with a hard black plastic washer which I removed and replaced w/a red rubber washer and the leaking from the nozzle head/hose connection stopped. It works well and, most importantly, for me, the spray patterns work well w/o knocking over my flowers as it does so. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Might be the best one I have used!
This thing is really nice. I actually spent some time on the net looking at garden influences and such to see what sprayers people like. One thing became common really quickly. This thing! So, I ordered it and don't regret it a bit. I love this thing! - It's made of what seems to be pretty much all metal. It is solid! - Has a bunch of modes to switch to for a ton of different watering needs. - Attaches smoothly! - Does Not Leak!!! - Showed up in a decent amount of time. - This may be my favorite sprayer ever. Recommended, For Sure!

Love the flat spray pattern, appears to be durable, but spring goes bad in 1~2 years.
Update for picture regarding DIY spring replacement. Spring size 1.2x9x40mm (wire diameter, spring outer diameter, length) Replacing the steel spring with a stainless fixes it. The 3 washers shown in picture are DIY parts too (not from the manufacturer); I saw some micro cracks on the plastic molding around the 3 screws so I though a fender washer may help to distribute the pressure. ===== Updated, I emailed Melnor, provided pictures of the leaky nozzle, and nozzle taken apart showing the corroded / broken spring. They replied the next day, and shipped a replacement. Replacement arrived in a few days. I took it apart, found the same steel spring, nothing has improved, uhhh.. Good warranty, but from others' comments they may replace every original purchase once only. So the warranty is basically a one-time replacement. Not terribly bad for the price anyway. If feasible, could just replace the faulty spring when it fails again. ===original review=== Appears to be durable outside, but the inner parts fail just like any other cheap nozzles. Been using it 1~2 times a day for the past 1.5 years or so, the spring started to loose traction after about 1 year. By now it will not close by itself, have to manually push the plunger inward to sort of close it; even then, it stays leaky. I close the water value after daily use so this isn't an immediate issue for me (for now only). I can already see it eventually failing in another half year or so as the spring eventually breaks, and all inner parts fly around inside. Not recommended. The heavy body weight makes it feel durable, but the inner parts will fail regardless. Other plastic-type nozzles may have the outer body (most likely the handle) breaks first. Will see if the manufacturer honors their warranty; but even if they do, they will need to switch to better inner parts or it will just get replaced every 2 year or so.

Great quality and durable
Body of the nozzle is metal with thick rubber protecting the adjustable head. I throw this thing around and have yet to have any issues. Worth the cost.

Seems Sturdy
Iโve only had this for a short period of time but so far it seems to be very sturdy. It makes a good seal on the hose, so Iโm not getting any leaks and I like the versatility of the adjustments. Iโll probably end up buying another one.

LEAKS
This sprayer is sturdy yes, it has many spray patterns yes, but it also leaked from the first time I used it on every pattern. I tried to tighten the screw in the center of the sprayer but it was sufficiently tight. After two months, it is unusable. Not worth the twenty bucks, just another cheap piece of crap

Seems solid. Let's see how it stands up over time.
This model was reviewed well on WireCutter. I find that these sprayers can look good initially and then wear out surprisingly quickly. I will be checking to see if the labels for the different spray options wear off and if it maintains a high level of function. Too soon to say so far. A minor complaint is that the soaker position is difficult to target because the water comes out at several angles. This would be fine if I were leaving it on the ground, which is perhaps the intended way to use it.

Sturdy and works well
Very sturdy! We bought a different one that had some plastic parts, and it started leaking within a month. This one is mostly metal and much more robust.
