Use cat 6 cable, make sure you have power near transmitter and receiver.
Works great, my setup is cable box in one room next to kitchen about 10 feet. I wanted to mirror the two since they are effectively the same area. So have it configured as :Cable box -> splitter -> Extender -> Receiver -> TV| -> TVNo issues, use it almost every day. Previously I had the passive 2 cable system and it went in and out (got pixelated) due to power in the wall - I could tell when the bar fridge turned on it was going to happen. Since I installed these over 1 year ago all good. I installed my own cat 6 in the wall and basement. Easy - we're all computer guys right? Recommend Cat 6 cable and RJ45 connectorsI haven't tried more than receiver but wanted to have the option to expand so I got this.

I bought 2 and both came without the transmitter
I bought 2 and both came without the transmitter. There was no sign it was opened. I looks the manufacturer forgot to include the transmitters inside the packages. Unbelievable!

1080p picture quality is poor and IR not working
Used 50ft UTP Cat-5e cable. Connected Transmitter balun to Pioneer Elite Receiver output which had FiOS 1080p Satellite box connected as source. Connected Receiver balun to Samsung 60" 1080 LED TV. At first, the TV or FioS defaulted to 720p so I changed it to 1080p on FioS. The picture quality was not sharp at 1080p or 1080i. Info on TV said it was set to 1080p. Resolution appeared to be much lower and colors were saturated. Swapped 50ft HDMI cable and 1080p picture quality instantly improved. I've used a lot of baluns and never seen this issue. Also, the IR did not work.

Works great!
I used this extender over CAT6 cable to send HDMI to a TV that was 165 feet away. I just plugged everything together and it worked! No adjusting little dials or playing with settings. If the TVs were in the same room, you would notice a slight delay in the audio. This is not a issue when the TV is in a different room.

Ease of install and setup. It was literally "Plug and Play".
Quick delivery and reasonable pricing. I was using the piece to split a signal in a customers living room and sending the video out to his patio TV. The built-in IR transmitter makes it seamless to operate the outdoor set to be turned on/off, change channel, etc.

It works
I needed to get signal to 8 TV's from 4 cable boxes and have the flexibility to re-organize the routing configuration at a later date. This product delivered on it's promise and helped me deliver a great A/V system to my client.

If you stand back from the TV it looks fine, but if you get too close you can ...
I just loosely installed this extender, not impressed with it. The reason is because I am not receiving the video stream in full HD. My TV says its 1080i but the picture looks to be at 720p, lots of pixilation happening. If you stand back from the TV it looks fine, but if you get too close you can see the pixilation. I wanted to find something like this, but I'm not impressed, so I will go back to my wireless extender that has excellent picture but messes with my other wireless devices.

If you want a converter this is the one.
This is a great product, easy to use. Is a plug and play.
