I would say the sock fit womens size 4uk to size 7uk. I am a size 7 and they fit perfectly. I wouldn't say they'd fit anything above a 7 0r less than a 4. They really are brilliant socks. I will order more. Hope this helps

Are these really merino wool? Some reviews say they are not and it just says 70% wool on the label?

I was unable to find proof of this on packaging either. However I am so pleased with the warmth and comfort that I have accepted them as a maybe. They are proving to be some of the best socks I have bought in many years. Washing excellently(I am following washing instructions) and stretch comfortably over swollen feet and ankles.

Has anyone washed these socks in the washing machine and were they okay?

Yes l washed them in a washing machine 30 degrees 1200 spin they were fine.
