Moen Kitchen Sink Strainer Basket with Drain Assembly, Stainless Steel, 22036

This is an excellent strainer if you have a sink with a larger opening like me. The standard opening is 3 1/2 inches but ours is closer to 4 1/2. That would explain why the previous owner installed a 4 1/2 inch floor drain in our kitchen sink, which caused it to drain super slowly as a floor drain is meant to. It was probably all that was available to them at the time they were installing the sink. The install was straightforward and I did everything with a pair channel lock pliers. I did not use the included nut for the bottom of the assembly because I was using a different tailpiece I ordered specifically for this project that I was able to cut down to fit the existing plumbing.

Fit exactly as expected. Was of better quality than what was originally installed in sink. Glad I purchased this item. The included basket seal perfectly. Catches food and other stuff for easy removal. Lives up to Moen name. Purchased from Amazon because of ease of delivery and didn’t have to wonder around the big box home improvement stores hoping to find it

What can I say? Apparently, when our previous plumber installed our kitchen sink and redid the piping under it, he never applied plumber's putty and just... positioned it? I have no idea how we were so lucky to use our sink for over two years without flooding, but it finally happened (not that we were expecting it - it took the flood to recognize the issue). A frantic search of putty-free same-day sink basket/drain assemblies had this at the top, and a few hours later it was delivered and easily installed. In addition to this sink basket being far superior (deeper and wider) than the one that came with the sink, it's sturdy, easily installed solo (I took care of the entire process while my husband did other housework), and is as attractive as a basic stainless steel drain basket can get. If you need a new kitchen sink basket/drain, I highly recommend this one.

After living in the same house for 17 years we decide to upgrade all the appliances. While doing that I noticed the drain was was looking old and discolored. This was on sale for under $10 so I got it. Replacing was pretty easy. Followed the online video posted here. All I had to buy was some plumbers putty. Looks nice and shiny compared to what it replaced. we will see how long it stays that way but I have a feeling it will be good for a while.

The strainer has the Moen name but it's still not real high quality. Made in China. But what isn't nowadays? It is good quality for the money and will install easily enough. The reason i did not give it 5 stars is because it resembles polished chrome, not the stainless steel finish on the Moen faucet products. This item is frequently returned, just like we did. But I'm guessing it is because the finish is not what's expected. If you don't mind a more chrome look in the sink strainer, then I do recommend this strainer.

This worked exactly as advertised. It was easy to install, and the stainless steel should prevent it rushing out like the previous one did.

Good basic drain. Description should say it's for bar sink. Deeper drain model is for kitchen sink. I still installed on kitchen sink and had no complaint from tenant. Moen has been great with warranty claims on their other products.
