The Real McCoy
I know that it can be less expensive to purchase a new printer than to buy 4 new toner cartridges from the printer manufacturer. We read about pros and cons regarding substitute cartridges that sometimes work sometimes not. I've had no problems with cartridges ALLEGEDLY made by the printer manufacturer. However, I did purchase a cartridge a while back that was boxed as a Canon cartridge. Unfortunately, it was a fraudulent item, and Amazon refunded the purchase price back to me. It was sold by an after-market business through Amazon, not directly by Amazon. There can be a difference.

Counterfeit Cartridges!!
DO NOT BUY THESE!!!! These are counterfeit cartridges. The photos attached show that the name Canon is just stamped on and not the same font--on a real toner cartridge it is in the plastic mold. The Magenta one blew up in my printer. I contacted Canon for help. They confirmed they were NOT original Canon cartridges. I had an expensive lesson in buying these--I will never buy again except from Canon. Thankfully once I put in a genuine OEM magenta cartridge my printer cleaned it self up and my horror were over.
