what is this used for?

Amino acids form proteins in our bodies .... i.e. grow muscle and repair muscles. I use amino acids to help maintain body mass muscles and for recovery after exercise. This brand not only gives you the "essential" ones which our bodies cannot manufacture on its own, but also provides other amino acids to help the body increase the amino acids it is able to produce on its own. What is the source of the gelatin?

“Hydrolyzed Gelatin” is the first ingredient. (This is a response to the other answer saying “There is not gelatin in these.” Yes there is.
