Fortify your diet to help prevent Alzheimer's. It's natural to be concerned that there's nothing you can do to reduce your risk of Alzheimer'sโespecially if it runs in your family. Fortunately, there is something that can help prevent it: the right diet. The Alzheimer's Prevention Food Guide is a nutritional guide to the food that protects your brain. With this guide, you can look up foods fast to find out if they're "brain healthy." Unlike other Alzheimers books, this one even includes information about popular diets like MIND and Keto so you can compare them side-by-side and make the right decisions for you. The Alzheimer's Prevention Food Guide is one of the only Alzheimers books that offers: Sample meal templates โfind out what kind of foods (and how much of them) you should be eating with every meal. A 2-week meal plan โstart strong with 14 days of prescribed meals and learn what good choices look like. Brain healthy food combinations โmix and match brain-healthy ingredients with profiles on over 115 different foods. Other Alzheimers books focus on treatment after the fact, but this one equips you with the knowledge you need to keep your brain in fighting form with the right food. Review: Superbly done - This is such a great book. So well put together. So incredible the amount of knowledge that is in it. Gets right to the point. Itโs packed full of useful information. The two authors are smart and thorough and their stories are heartfelt and relatable. This is such a great book on nutrition. Thereโs no bias towards anything really. Itโs all grounded in facts and the essence of the nutrients that are in any given food. Beautifully beautifully done. Review: A wonderful guide on how to keep you brain healthy as you age! - What a wonderful book. It was moving to read the author's introductions about their own experiences with Alzheimer's - both having mother's who were afflicted with disease. I spend many days with my dad at his nursing home. Fortunately, he does not have dementia. However, many of the people he spends his days with it suffer from various stages of the disease. It is hopeful reading this book - there are things we can do to help avoid this debilitating disease and these authors do a wonderful job of consolidating the science and approaches to Alzheimer's prevention. I loved the easy to read, science-based advice and practical tips presented. The meal plans serve as a wonderful "idea generator" for brain-healthy options. I will be being several copies of this book to give to friends and family.

Helpful, informative, but NOT a cook or recipe book!
So far this looks promising but please be advised, this is NOT a cook book or recipe guide. This is information to help with learning how to choose foods that aide in the prevention of Alzheimer's. I mistakenly presumed this was a kind of cook-book. It is an average offering, but helpful nonetheless.

Easy to read and apply to your life.
This book has a lot of good nutrition information which is presented in a very interesting and easy to understand format. It explains the reasons behind the recommendations for each food and the benefits each one has for helping prevent Alzheimer's and other ailments. It is explained so well and then has menus and food plans to put it all into action. Alzheimer's is in my family and I highly recommend this book!

Content is Good - The FEEL of the Cover is Horrible....
The content of this book is GREAT!!! and I know my review should be more about the content. The content is up to date and relevant and explained well. What I can't get past if the FEEL of the cover of the book. It is horrible. In order to hold the book I have either buy a book cover for it or do the old fashioned paper book cover because the cover feels well....it is hard to describe....it is almost slimy but tacky at the same time. It might some sort of suede type paper but I have the feeling and can't read the book until I cover it. :-(

I liked this book
I found this book to be informative. My mom has Alzheimer's, diabetes and kidney problems, There is a lot of food she can and can't eat. I learned a little more about what I want to feed her, especially when it comes to spices. In the past I haven't used to many spices but they sure make a difference.

Great hands-on resource book for everyday use
I purchased this book for my 80-year old parents. It is very user-friendly, easy to understand, and readily applicable to a daily routine. Another plus is the font size is nice for mature readers. A bit surprised to see a section for grains included, as I have read in other sources gluten should be avoided for optimal brain health. Otherwise, the Two Week Meal plan is giving my parents the jumpstart they need to begin preparing more brain-healthy meals. I may purchase a copy for myself!

Sensible advice that is easily doable with ordinary food with no faddish diet
Very interesting reading, we are both keen to do what we can to stave off the onset of Alzheimer's. it's on both sides of the family so a strong possibility. Sensible advice that is easily doable with ordinary food with no faddish diet. Increase some foods and reduce/eliminate others but don't feel guilty if you stray from the advice, sounds like common sense and therefore you can follow the rules easily for the best outcome. Would recommend this to any person with Alzheimer's or any dementia diagnosis in the family so that, by making a few small adjustments you are doing what you can to delay this terrible illness.

Out of date information
I bought the book as the cover suggested a well thought out practical guide to preventing Alzheimer's by authors with experience. However page 12 refers to "saturated fats can increase your blood cholesterol and is linked to the development of Alzheimer's disease" Also in the same paragraph they have listed trans fats with saturated fats and the two are completely different. This book needs to be up-dated using clear concise evidence. Science is about discovery and if new evidence is discovered then authors need to be transparent.
