The Stove Wizard Firebrick Fire Board Heat Proof Brick Vermiculite Fireboard 240 X 303 X 25MM

Our chimney cleaner said to use skamolex board so risked these. I first drilled through them with the aim of fixing them into the brick work, which I didn't need to do. I couldn't drill through fire brick with good masony bits. The ceramic tiles were collapsing and breaking above the fire. I just stuck these with "no more nails" and they are rock solid. They will keep the other tiles in place for years. Supposedly you can replace all firebrick inside your stove we these also. They withstand 1000°C. They are better than buying a huge slab of 1m². And they were so easy to cut. I used a Stanley knife and a ruler to mark the cuts and then used a talon saw to cut them really accurately. Amazing stuff. Will get a Colortrend paint to exactly match our tiles but already looks better and the cracking has stopped in the upper tiles.

Arrived safely. Easy to saw with hand saw, cut to the correct dimensions and has been going strong in my wood burner !

This item seemed so fragile when I first received it. I really did not expect it to last long. However a long while later, it is still going strong - a bit dinged and pitted now but still perfectly useable. It withstands the heat from my MappGas torch with no issues.

These were an amazing find. Having searched without success for replacement fire bricks for our ancient but wonderful Waterford wood-burner, we thought we would give these a try . We were not too optimistic as they were larger than we needed. Well, what an incredible find it was. They cut to size easily with a fine tooth saw -without any problem - and the stove looks neater than it has for years. Could not be more delighted with this product. Thank you.

This product has just saved me £1000 or more. My multi-fuel stove had a cast-iron throat plate that had become cracked and distorted. I made a pattern out of packing foam and copied the shape in Vermiculite Fireboard. I lit the fire (on the hottest day of the year) and luckily the 'Draw' was perfect, first time.The Vermiculite was easy to cut with my jigsaw and shape with my angle grinder (sanding disc fitted).What a relief!
