Bought this to fill with change. love it love the sound the coins make when they fall in. it's well made and i'm sure a great water bottle but i bought it to fill with change. shipped fast and the price was fair. FYI does not come with a cap!

You will randomly get a smooth or textured glass carboy. The neck sizes are different so you'll need to buy a random assortment of bungs/plugs to use these.Buy somewhere else

This carboy was packaged very well and arrived in perfect condition. The glass is thick, clear and appears to be of high quality. This is the same carboy that my local home brew shop sells but at a much more reasonable price

The glass carboy online picture has a pattern. The one we received had no pattern and considerably less attractive. Not what I ordered and it was a gift.

The carboy itself is great, I mean I expected a glass jug, and I got a glass jug. Well done glass jug factory workers!The shipping and price gouging on all this beer equipment on amazon is just insane though. So yes, I get that a glass jug is not going to be dirt cheap to ship. But there isn't a single vendor on Amazon that has core equipment available through amazon prime, and it just plain sucks to have to pay nearly the cost of the item in shipping. It just kills me to know that if this wasn't being used to brew beer, it would prob cost half and be available with free shipping like most other things on amazon.I would check out craigslist if you have time to wait, you are almost certainly going to pay less than this. If not, this was the best deal I could find on amazon.

Great big glass carboys, however, after buying two with the shipping costs, I won't be coming back.It is nice having the convenience of ordering online without having to go to a supply store to pick these up, but the shipping plus the different "models" of carboy have discouraged me from eating that huge shipping cost.I recommend these carboys to anyone looking for them as storage or for wine and beer making, I just caution that although I purchased two carboys, 5 days apart, they were very different in terms of their look and structure. A glass carboy is a glass carboy however, one just has a larger concave bottom than the other and I would have preferred them both be on the flatter side as pictured.

I have looked for these and in used "junk" stores or antique shops they are expensive and need cleaning. Finding a new one at such a reasonable price was a good day. I am using it as a decorator item to house wine corks. The company was good with shipping and it arrived intact and quickly after I ordered it. I have ordered a second from them as I drink a lot of wine ;-)

Just go to Whole Foods supermarket and buy apple cider in a glass jar, use it, wash it and voila! $14 bucks????????
