4mm Pellet Activated Carbon | Virgin Bituminous Coal Filter Media, 5 Pounds

I have two different HEPA air purifiers and one of them uses the same pellet style carbon in its carbon filter stage as these 4mm pellets so I bought the 5lb bag to use as a replacement.In addition to the HEPA filter and mesh screen pre-filter, my air purifier has a honeycomb pattern filter filled with carbon pellets throughout. There is a fine mesh screen on both sides of the filter to keep the pellets in place so I took off one side, emptied the old carbon, and then filled it with these new pellets. I bought a roll of fiberglass window screen from my local orange/white home repair store and cut it to the size of the filter to replace the mesh screen I took off. These pellets are a perfect fit and do an excellent job at getting rid of odors. We run our purifiers 24/7 to get rid of dust, dander, and cooking/pet odors (we have a dog) and I can say that it continues to do so with these new pellets as these work very well.One of the issues with carbon filters that I noticed with the air purifiers we have is that they tend to not last as long as the manufacturer says they should. Although in my experience, when compared to the sheet style of activated carbon, this pellet style of carbon seems to last much longer and gets rid of odors a lot quicker than the sheet style. Buying these replacement carbon pellets allows me to change the carbon without having to buy a new set of filters (the filters only come together as a set). Overall, these pellets are a great quality replacement and I can easily recommend them.

This product is very standard for VOC filtering in 3d printers, and I use it in my Q1 Pro with a Nevermore filter. These pellets cannot escape the holder, so they work well for me. The price is a little high, but its worth it, as the bag will last quite a while. Only problem I have with it is that the CTC rating could be higher. For more industrial grade carbon pellets, the carbon tetrachloride percentage is higher, which makes for a higher rate of harmful organic compound absorption. This carbon is fine, with around 60%, but for a higher quality carbon they can be upwards of 80%.

Used this media to refresh the charcoal pellets in my kitchen hood filters. Perfect size & shape. Much cheaper than replacement filters.

These work well in cat litter.

This is my media of choice for use in 3d printers. In particular, I use this with Nevermore Mini and Duo in my Voron 2.4r2 and Voron 0.2 respectively. Does not cause rust or reactivity. No issues since I first started using it in 2021.

I use these in an application where melted plastic puts off a minor odor. It almost eliminates the smell entirely!
