It's tough, it's secure, and it's quality. The inside consists of hexagonal patterned padding securing both sides. There is a soft elastic cloth insert tray that secures the laptop in place, so that even smaller laptops can be used (my laptop is an Asus Zephyrus G14 - for reference, it is only fractionally bigger than a MacBook Air 2020). This is demonstrated in my video where the laptop doesn't slide, even with inertia applied. However, I am unsure how long this will last and if it'll sag over time. I'll follow-up on this in due course. The outside is obviously "hard" with little to no flex when pressed down. It's made of a woven mesh-like material that seems it may trap dirt easily. The black colour may subdue this flaw unlike lighter colours. It has a "tough" woven luggage zipper that states it's meant to last 3 times a normal YKK zipper. It also has a hand loop that tightens around your hand if you're planning on carrying it around.

Quality case, sturdy, offers adequate protection. The plastic smell is a little intrusive for the first few weeks. Airing it for a couple of days outside on the balcony helps, better if in direct sunlight. It was the only laptop case of this type that I could find to fit a 15" MacBook Air.

Not a completely rigid hard case, however this is one of the sturdiest laptop cases I’ve seen. I’ve kept my laptop in it for about 9 months so far and it’s scratch and dent free despite being shoved into my backpack and tossed around everyday and getting dropped one or twice. It even comes with a YKK zipper (a very reliable and well trusted name brand zipper). I would recommend this case if it fits your laptop.
