Even dye but varying shades of green
This was my first time buying fabric dye and it worked really well! I used the stove top method as I was dyeing nylon. The instructions are printed on the inside of the box, so try not to rip it when opening. Make sure you wear gloves, as well, as the color will get on your fingers just from touching/opening the box. I bought the kelly green to dye a pair of gloves and tights. They both seemed to dye really evenly, minus the crotch on the tights which turned out a darker color (probably because of the extra fabric in that section). I dyed them in the same pot and the gloves turned out a beautiful dark forest green while the tights turned out a color similar to what is shown on the box (my pictures don't do the colors justice!) Overall, I am very pleased with this product and would buy again.

Easy to use, and results are true to the color on the box
I bought two boxes of Rit dye after exploring how to make "aqua" for some curtains - I found instructions on the Rit website. Our local Walmart and grocery stores didn't have the colors I needed so I was happy to find them here on Amazon (although quite a bit more expensive). I bought Kelly Green and Teal and measured the proper ratios, then did the dying on my stove with hot water. The dye set on the curtains properly, without streaking or inconsistent results. I only needed a small amount from each box, but I saved the rest in hopes that I'll be able to use it on something else some day. Rit has been around since I was a child in the 60s and 70s, and I remember helping my mother tie-dye t-shirts on her stove. It's an inexpensive way to personalize clothes or other fabrics, and the variations of colors are endless.

Nice Dye Powder
For very bold color, use 2 packs, 1/2 cup of white vinegar and 1/2 cup salt in hot water. Introduce a dry (not wet) garment in the hot dye bath. Keep it there for no less than 30 minutes.

fun to play with
I have learned not to expect the colors to ever be as intense as bottle (or box) shows. is still fun and useful, but once dyed a garment must always be washed alone of with very similar colors. it bleeds a bit every wash. the addition of salt and a finishing cold water soak helps, but not much. notice ad says rit will dye polyester and acrylic. not so! those 2 fabrics just dont take dye at all, never have. I have found over the years that nylon and rayon take dye very well, as intensely as cotton. was really surprised. the presence of spandex can give a streaky tie-dye effect. the presence of polyester (poly/cotton blends) gives a pastel version at best. am older and have had alot of fun with rit dye over the years. I must always have nearly every color in my arsenal, a hobby of sorts.

Worked like a charm
I used it to dye a white guitar strap green to match my bass. Looks great! Follow the directions, mind the type of fabric, and you should achieve good results.

Color came out great and easy to use
Decided to dye two pairs of underwear and color came out great. Added a cup of vinegar to the heated water and mixed them around with some tongs and results were perfect without any blotching. Just follow the directions which are printed on the inside of the box. Not messy as long as youโre careful.

Great Value
This tie dye is great and the green color is beautiful! These are the refillable color packets so it doesn't come with bottles to put the color in so if you don't have anything to use at home then you will need to buy one. You will have a lot left over for future projects. We made 12 shirts using 1 packet and still had a lot left in just one packet. The box comes with 3-4 color packets.

Great dye - color not quite as expected.
Really great dye and simple to use (I've never dyed anything before using this!) but I was a little disappointed by the color. Admittedly it could be my own inexperience, but I was expecting something a bit more vibrant. Even in just dying a plain white t-shirt, the color looks much darker than my idea of "kelly green." Even a second attempt at dying the shirt didn't yield the color I expected, but the dye itself is fantastic and seems to hold up very well.

Colour was not what I thought it would be
I thought I could use this to dye some of my white sheets and turn them into a greenscreen but it didn't seem to work the way I thought it would. I followed the instructions to a T but still did not get the colour results I thought I should. It didn't even register as green on camera. I'm sure it would be great to dye a dress or some other fabric but it didn't work for me.

Great Results
I first tried DYLON fabric dye and it was a waste of time; all the Forest Green dye did was left a few small blue patches on my white and black trousers. I then reluctently bought Rit 'Kelly Green' dye and not only did work perfectly, it also covered the smudges DYLON left on them. I also LOVE the colour. : )
