Tl;dr:At best: I had a faulty one.At worst: a 6DOF knockoff.Appears to be the right thing, communicating via SPI it gives the wrong WHO_AM_I (0x75 but it should be 0x71) this implies the firmware has been altered.Digging deeper, the AK8963 module (magnetometer) cannot be communicated with (WHO_AM_I = 0x00 ==> no response).This makes me believe it isn't genuine but it could be faulty in some strange way.Either way, I'll be returning this.
