My 2nd Night Cat purchase and I'm not disappointed. For the price, you get a pretty solid bag. The zippers and material could be a little more quality. But for the price and being a novice packer, I'm very pleased.

This is an awesome pack for today or three day hike in carries is plenty of gear light weight and comfortable to wear

I purchased the Night Cat 70L Hiking Backpack for a trip to Thailand, and I was really impressed with the design. The bag has plenty of room, multiple pockets, and well-divided compartments, which made packing and organizing my gear much easier than I expected. It also fit comfortably — the straps and fit were great for both men and women. Unfortunately, one of the straps was cut while the bag was in the care of the airport. Because I had to check it due to medical reasons, I wasn’t able to use it for my trip, so I can’t give a full assessment of its durability. This wasn’t the bag’s fault, but it did impact my experience. Overall, the design and capacity are excellent, and I think it would be a great choice for hiking or backpacking — just be mindful when checking it with airlines.

Okay, is this pack a 5-star compared to something like a high end Osprey or other higher end regular/ultra-light packs... no. Definitely not. So why the 5 stars? Because I'm rating this in comparison to other packs in this price range and this is definitely 5-star compared to those. This is a great budget pack to buy to figure out if you even like backpacking before spending a couple hundred or more on a much better pack. This has a lot of the features which come with the higher end packs, plenty of room, great compression features, tons of mounting points, and is very comfortable to wear... it really is an awesome $40-50 pack. The ONLY thing I wish this pack had was a roll top instead of the drawstring, other than that, I feel this is the perfect pack at this price point. That said... this is a cheap pack. Don't expect it to last years on end, tons of trips, and tons of miles. It's not going to. But this will last you a few trips while you're figuring out if backpacking is right for you before dropping serious coin on more serious gear. That is why it gets 5-stars. Other reviewers giving it such low stars because a cheap pack didn't last... I'm not too sure what they were expecting. So, in short. If you are getting into backpacking and figuring out if it's something you want to do, then get this pack.

I ordered a 70L but you wouldn't know it - the mouth of the pack is clinched too tightly to fit more than a clothing bag, even when the drawstring tie is fully released. I've had to carry my winter sleeping bag separately on hikes which is super annoying. Its also been less than a year of use and some of the plastic buckles have cracked and broken. For good things - it has survived weekly hiking trips for half a year despite the buckles and is still holding together well otherwise. It was a lot of pockets and, if you're committed to stuffing, will fit most things reasonably well. The pack cover it comes with though is way too small, especially if you have a sleeping mat rolled up on the bottom of your bag or anything attached to the outside.

We’ve had this products for about a month, got it for my boyfriend for our backpacking trips, we’ve only used it about 4/5 times and literally the day we got it zippers/zipper protectors fell off, the seams are already starting to tear and we don’t even use it to a “full” capacity and one of the tent straps on the bottom tore off of it already, the hip band doesn’t secure tight enough around his hips so they ride up into an uncomfortable position, the only good thing about the bag is how big the bag is and how much stuff you COULD put in it if it were able to hold stuff to its full capacity, overall dissatisfied and would not recommend Update:7/25/25 After emailing customer service about the issues with the bag they were quick to send out a new one that We’ve had no issues with at all, overall a great product and customer service is friendly and willing to fix the issues, very satisfied with the product and with the service

Right back strap ripped out leaving a big tear in the seam. Looks great lots of storage but poor construction. Only lasted two days on what was a planned 12 day thru hike.

I bought the Night Cat 70L backpack for a multi-day hiking trip, and it honestly exceeded my expectations for the price. The material feels durable and water-resistant, and it comes with a rain cover which is a huge bonus. The zippers and stitching are solid, and I didn’t experience any failures even when the pack was fully loaded. The storage space is excellent. Between the main compartment, side pockets, top lid, and bottom compartment (perfect for a sleeping bag), I had no problem organizing all my gear. The straps are well-padded and adjustable, offering decent comfort even after several hours of hiking. That said, it’s not a premium ultralight backpack. When fully packed, the weight distribution is good, but the back support isn’t as advanced as more expensive brands. For long-term thru-hiking, hardcore mountaineering, or carrying extremely heavy loads, you might want something higher-end. But for weekend camping, backpacking trips, or someone starting out in hiking, it’s honestly an amazing value. Plenty of space, surprisingly sturdy, and it looks good too. Great bang for your buck.
